Safari freezes when I want to give it permission to access an applet (Ephox Pty Ltd) that would allow me to use Java.
    Any ideas?

I am having exactly the same problem. Nothing seems helps - I have already re-installed Safari countless times, but after calling up a couple of bookmarks, Safari stops responding and I have to force quit it.

Best I can figure is that the kids
> click on the red close window button (thinking they are quitting), and
> then they go to the blue apple and click on logout. I guess the logout
> process tries to quit Safari and can't
> for some reason. So Safari stops responding and logout times out.

Take a look with lsof or sc_usage and see what Safari is holding open when
it happens.

or to a website two days ago and then I always get a message, 'server stopped responding' through Safari. Now I can access the site on a PC or any other Mac, just not mine. I emptied the cache, reset Safari, removed all cookies. I can access the site with my username and password elsewere, ie., other computers. ...

SOURCE: Safari Not Responding

Hi there.
The problem is the internet not the web browsers, and it depends what time of day your trying to connect to a certain site, this is because 99% of ISP's have taken on a fair usage policy which means at certain times of the day your connection speed is capped to the internet doesn't get clogged up.
I use a Windows PC with a 50meg connection and i experience the same problems with certain sites.
The only thing that i can suggest you do is update your java and flash (macromedia) software and see if that helps at all.

Good luck and thanks for choosing FixYa!!

Safari page will not open

  1. Try Command-N.
  2. The window may be open but moved nearly out of view. Tap the F3 button, do you see a Safari Window?
  3. Safari may be frozen, from the Apple Menu go to Force Quit and see if Safari is listed, if so it may be red and say "Not Responding" Select it Force Quit, Confirm. Try reopening it now.
  4. Restart if all else fails.

I usually get an error message in firefox stating"the script on this page may have stopped responding............"and something like this due low available memory resources or due to some...

it may be that the website you are using has stopped responding or has timed out. do you have this problem with other sites too? another possible cause is a slow internet connection.

Try restarting your internet router. Clear your browser's history and cookies by going to tools-options-privacy and click on "clear your recent history" then "clear now". click on "remove individual cookies" then "remove all cookies"

then restart your browser.

Hope this helps!
