A service manual will provide a series of tests that may help troubleshooting steps. But, since this sounds intermittent then it may be a connection problem. Try a visual inspection looking for loose connections.

Roma Shoprider Whisper S-787NA keeps stopping, batteries are brand new

It appears you are equipped at least a bit for troubleshooting and have your back to the wall with such a distance to go for help. If you have a troubleshooting manual or can call the closest place for troubleshooting help that would be a help. I would expect that there is something happening that is causing an overheat or overload switch to trip. Turning it off would reset things and you go again. I wish you well with figuring this out.

Pay close attention to the 'fixing leaks' part. You will probably need a heater core (from the sounds of it).

My internet is unusually slow, and unresponsive.

well it sounds like you need either to reset your wireless router(little blue utton on the back of the router) or you need to clear your safari history/cashe.

good luck
