Question about Electric Razor Pocket Mod Scooter

1 Answer

Electric Scooter model PB707A will not start. New battery has been tried and our mechanic wants to look at the electric wiring but has NO INFORMATION on the electric wiring?

To Sir

Please can you send any information you have regarding "power failure" and electric wiring for Electric Scooter Model PB707A.
We have followed all the -"Trouble-shooting' suggestions from the Electric vehicle Manual Book.
We are still having power failure, we have introduced a new battery and the power still cuts out? My mechanic has requested to look at the electrical box to see if there is a blown fuse, however it is unfamiliar territory. We have tries numerous sites on the web with no luck and the Scooter shop we purchased the scooter from has closed down.
If you have any information that may help it would be much appreciated!

Yours sincerely
Paul McClure

Simply buy a new controller from razor.com. If the problem is not the batteries, then it is you controller. The power before it reaches the motor has to go through the controller. If you don't want to replace the controller you can either do two things. Bypass the controller by connecting the batteries direct to the motor using a on/off switch to control the motor. Or take the control apart, inspect the chip for any damage and replace the damage part.

Batteries wont charge

You would need a voltmeter to check the charger in order to see if it is charging the batteries. New batteries if purchased from a reputable outfit will have a nominal charge and should work initially in order to test the scooter. Depending on the model check for blown fuses and disconnected wires on the battery boxes, connections, plugs and charging circuits including the wall outlet. The display on the scooter will indicate the state of charge and the key switch should work and give an initial indication that the scooter is on. If you provide make and model I can respond with more specific information.

Hi, For_shi_zo before testing any electrical component in the Starter Circuit it is "IMPERATIVE" that you have a fully charged battery of 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper "LOAD" test because your battery may have 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amps causing the battery to be faulty and must be replaced, especially "AGM" batteries.
1. Ignition Switch not in the "ON" position.
2. Engine Run Switch in the "OFF" position.
3. Check the battery terminals for damage or corrosion check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter.
4. Bank angle sensor needs a reset or is faulty.
5. FOB battery low or dead.
6. Faulty ignition switch.
7. Faulty starter button.
8. Faulty kickstand or clutch pull in switch/sensor.
9. Security alarm needs a reset.
10. Starter relay, solenoid or starter circuit wiring faulty.
11. Starter armature or field coils have failed.
12. Main fuse or circuit breaker may be blown or faulty.
13. The electric starter is working but starter clutch has failed.
14. Check for engine trouble codes.

Scooter just stopped moving .new battery. tryed reset button

Did you replace both batteries at the same time? has the scooter been sitting idle for a while? Are the lights on the controller flashing or steady? If no lights come on at all, you may have blown a fuse. If the lights are flashing, this link may help you to diagnose what the problem may be related to: http://www.pgdt.com/scenter/diagnostics/diagvsi.html
Locate the page that has the controller used on your power chair/scooter and count how many lights are flashing to diagnose the trouble. If your insurance purchased the power chair for you, they may also cover the repairs; contact them for information.
Good luck!

My Aprilia Mojito stopped working after I hadn't ridden it in over 6 months so I took it to the mechanic and they replaced the battery, rewired all the dash wires (believing they were draining the battery)...

hi, i beleive you have spent alot of money on this scooter, and for not much more you could have bought another machine, it sounds to me like the problem is with the electrics, as you say your mechanic has instaled a switch to cut of the power from the battery when the bike is not in use, this should not be the case as when your key is turned off there should be no drain on the battery at all, so i would sugest instead of fitting a switch, find out the reason for the battery drain and correct the fault, if you have a drain on the battery this may be a contributary factor in the poor starting, normaly modern bikes like yours require no opening of the throttle while starting, the whooing sound you mention could be the starter throwing out,and not engaging, because of the batteries low state. recharging the battery as many times as this is not good for the battery i would sugest obtaining a new battery from another agent, put the battery on the bike yourself, when you conect the battery leads with the key turned off you should conect the red posotive wire first, when you conect the earth neg wire to the battery as you touch it on the terminal you should have no power drain at all, power drain would be identifyed by a spark when conecting the lead, the more powerful the spark the heavyer the drain, care must be taken while doing this as a battery can explode if no spark is evident then there is no power drain, if a power drain is found then you should disconect things 1 at a time until you find the sorce of the fault, dont spend any more money unles you know it will rectify the fault.

My scooter starts runs good then dies

Replace the battery, after sometime the battery starts to lose it's initial capacity.

For battery replacement go to Goped.com, select your scooter model, then click replacement parts and find the batteries on the part list.

I have purchased new batteries for my mobility scooter which even when fully charged will not start my scooter. I turn the key but there is nothing ,as if a flat battery . Any ideas please Trudie

The control seems to be the issue. I have rewired so many scooters. When you have power and it wont go, it is usually the control. If you cannot afford the part right away, you can rewire it or have it rewired direct
