It's a problem for us to assume since you didn't mention the Operating System installed on the Acer Aspire... moreover there are two types of tv tuner card that comes with this model. I hope you'll not mind letting us know all these next time so that we can help you better.
If the operating system install on your system is Windows 7 the click the below links to download
go to microsoft.com and enter your vista model no(i.e)that is the no
you mentioned(pci tv tuner bt878 khf)......you will definitely find the required
drivers in that site.[but please enter enter your no
correctly...otherwise you will find different drivers...].Try this it
will work 100% for you.
just see the Brand name of the TV tuner card first for example it may be Pinnacle,INTEX etc After getting u r brand name put the brand name and model number in the google website u will a link select one and download the driver or try from www.driverguide.com
go into the drvice manager
right click and select scan for hardware changes
this should popup the tv tuner and automatically install the drivers..
If that fails
turn off the system
remove the tuner card
boot the system and using the device manager scan for hard ware changes
replace the tvtuner
restatr and in the device manager scan for hard ware changes again
Also in Mce insure you have the correct imaging device and tuner device selected, this will be located in the setup options
Microsoft is pretty picky now-a-days as to which devices are valid for use with the OS. You'll need to check which components are valid with Vista and then pray Compaq submits them to MS to rate them for Vista.
Try and post the audio card make/model next time and I can give a better hit. I'll guess at it for now.
Check this link... for the driver. Here is the link that the EXE above comes from to put in context.
Look for this paragraph in the page "Conexant HD Audio "Waikiki" driver for HP dv1000 and Compaq v2000
series (this is an OLD XP driver that HP apparently thinks is good
enough to post for Vista -- will only work on 32-bit Vista)"
