Maytag Neptune MAH9700A washer shakes during spin cycle

Our Maytag Neptune MAH9700A washing machine shakes badly during the spin cycle. It begins spinning OK then starts shaking a few seconds int the cycle. Once it reaches the set speed it runs smoothly again. When it completes the cycle it starts to shake again once it has slowed down somewhat. The four (4) shipping bolts shown in the Installation Instructions were removed and the machine was leveled. The troubleshooting section of the Technical Information manual says to check that all FIVE bolts have been removed. I do not see a fifth bolt anywhere. When using Service Mode to do a Quick Spin Test it spins up to ~1145 and back down again very smoothly (no clothes or water in it). We have never gotten an "unbalanced load" code when using it.

Thank you,

Tony Matson

My washing machine quit working. It was under warranty so they sent a repairman out to fix it. It runs now but shakes like crazy during the spin cycle. We have tried leveling, didn't fix the problem.

We recently bought a house with this washer. The machine shakes so badly during the spin cycle that the whole house vibrates like a massage chair. The washer is level. Floor is sound as the machine is directly above the main steel floor beam.

We have the same product. We also have the pedestal stand for the
washer/dryer. The washer shakes so much during the spin cycle that it
shakes/shimmy across the floor, slowed down only by the dryer. We have
tried slowing down the spin cycle but washer still shakes and moves
across the room. We have also used the more concentrated soap as
recommended by a few sales folks. Was told that the soap would help
lessen the vibration. Did not work. What can stop these machines from
    dancing.. Thank you

SOURCE: Maytag Neptune Series MAH5500BW loud noise during spin cycle.

very loud in spin cycle can mean a bad rear bearing, not something a homeowner would want to try to replace, parts would exceed 6-7 hundered dollars. you may have some extended part warr through the manufacture. still probly gonna be a 5 hundred when the labor is added in

The washer shakes violently then the off balance sensor trips when a load is in the washer.

I had this washer at one point in time. was not very happy with it, even though i sold it to alot of my customers. usually if the machine is shaking violently it means one of a couple things. first make sure your washer is properly leveled. if it is make sure you washing the same types of clothes in the load, no mixed loads of towels with shirts. if your problem is not that then you possibly have a bad clutch. which will cause the tumbling wheels to spin during your spin cycle as well, its a costly fix so i would consider a new front loading maytag/whirpool if that is your problem. remember this machine was designed by maytag, since then they were purchased by whirlpool and everything is on a whirlpool platform now. if you do purchase a new washer and have the matching dryer to your neptune TL, it would recommended to replace the dryer as well, considering the capacity of these machines are smaller then most of the new high efficiency machines on the market today.

At the middle of my load there was stop with code symbol E3

E3 is that the machine can't see that the motor is spinning. Could either be a loose connector at the motor or a loose hall-effect sensor. this might be a fairly easy fix for a repair tech,

Maytag Neptune makes loud drums like sound 5 min before it stops.

its probably because of the way the clothes are in it. you have to make sure the clothes arent leaning to one side and that they are evenly set up. otherwise when it goes into the spin cycle itll lean and hit the side of the washers inside and make it shake and do what you said it was doing.

Very loud noise during spin cycle

Probably a broken strut or support. some call it a shock absorber.

Front load washer shakes violently during spin cycle

On something like this you will need to remove the washer wrap to inspect the suspension springs & base assembly. Please see the link provided for accessing the inside of the washer. Be sure the shipping pins have been removed. The tub should float freely.

Excessive wobble

If there's a loud thumping noise during the spin cycle, the load of clothes has probably gotten unbalanced. Open the lid, redistribute the clothes in the washer, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.
