One thing to remember about most radios, the RCA pre amp circuit will still work even if the mosfet power amp inside the radio does not. The best way to know if the amp inside the radio works is to use one matching color pair coming off the radio to wire up a random speaker right to the radio. You can use just about any old random 4 ohm speaker that is laying around to check it. The best solution if the amp inside the radio is blown is to replace the radio or amp the pre amp outputs with a small 4 channel amp. Oh, by the way. What vehicle are you connecting this into? And does the vehicle say Bose, Infinity, or ect sound or Premium sound? These usually denote a factory amplifyer already onboard and requires special connections to get the signal to these amps to then be delivered to the speakers.

Our 2007 honda Accord experienced a dead battery. After a boost, it took the Nav. system code but then there was no way to enter the radio code. We are the origional owners. We took the car to Honda and...

Sometimes codes can take a bit to reset themselves. More than an hour sometimes. I would think the dealership would have the exact code for it. I unfortunately do not have that code at this time. Sometimes the radio code will reset but not always. If it does not come on soon you will have to have it coded at the dealership through their scanner/computer. Good luck.

sounds to be a drain of sorts. Do you have a good ground to the radio? If so the radio may be sticking open in the switch circuit and blows the relay buzz fuse and then after the power is removed the ciruit resets itself. If this is the case there is a dead short inside the radio

Radio reads SAFE won't let me enter a code

Normally you do have to leave your car running sometimes 10 mins sometimes couple hours,

I had same problem with my one and i must have been driving around for days like it and one day it just decided to work

You may find that if you disconnect the battery for couple mins then put it all back together it will work

If not matey then you probley have a faulty headunit

so this is what i suggest to do

Number 1
Disconnect Battery for say 5 mins then connect it all up and see what happens if not you most prob do have a faulty headunit. you can take it to your local car audio shop and they will either repair it or decode it for you

Hope this helps you

Kenwood KVT-847DVD radom reset problem

I solved this by changing where the power for the DSP unit was coming from the manual specifys to connect them to the same +12 connector for display and DSP and it worked fine in the Series 1 however for some reason in the series 2 the DSP unit draws too much power from the headunit +12 power connector and as soon as the unit fires bass in a song etc it drags it down to the point of the display shutting off, I change the +12 on the DSP unit to my 4GA +12 power cable through an adaptor block and it has worked fine since.
