Question about Lands Phones

1 Answer

Lg vx8350 Using external antenna port. Phone now refuses to switch back to internal antenna when external antenna is unplugged. No signal now without external antenna. Plug external antenna back in, full signal. Any ideas? Verizon is stumped as usual. They want to blame everything but their phone. Normal

Plugged Wilson 359915 adapter into phone and when removed, can no longer get a signal except in the very best service areas. Seems internal antenna is no longer functioning-either switched off or broken.

The Wilson adapter damaged your internal antenna. I talked to Wilson today to get a part number to buy the adapter and the told me they did not recommend using it as it has damaged a number of phones. They also said that LG might have corrected the problem in the newest production models.

HG8245A VS HG8245: The same Wifi Signal Strength?

Probably not...... With an External Antenna, there is nothing to stop the signal, whereas with the Internal, the Signal has to penetrate the case, before it goes to wherever...... I suggest using the External for the extra distance.... With 2 way radio the clearer the area yo have the Antenna, the greater the distance.... same here.... just using different Frequencies.

Simply....The phone refuses to turn on

first thing i would try is some kind of electrical contact cleaner. spray a little on a tooth brush, and clean the charging port. do this with the phone off and battery out.

LG VX8350 can't transfer mp3's to removable storage any more

Make sure you format the card in the phone and not using an external card reader.

Also make sure you are not using a card that is beyond the capability of the phone. The phone is limited to 4GB cards.Use only cards that are 4GB and lower capacity.

If you still have problems I would try getting another brand of card, Kingston and Sandisk have worked well for me.

I lost the little plastic cover that keps dust and debris out of the port that the charger plugs into on my LG VX8350 portable phone. Can I buy a replacement?

I've had my phone for over 1 yr without that little thing. Never had a problem. Call local Verizon store they can tell you.

Cell phone reception dead after using amplifier

I had this same problem with a motorola razr some time back. Some cell phones have a built in switch (such as the Razr) inside the external antenna connection. In the case with my razr, I
evidently pushed the adapter into the phone too far. I later had to jump out the switch inside the
phone to make it work with it's internal antenna again. Unfortunately, I could'nt use that same phone with my amp again. Just a thought on your problem.

Audiovox SMT5600 Searching most of the time

Not necessarily. If you very carefully open up the upper dark portion of the back of the phone (where the antenna extension is), you'll see that the antenna of the phone is actually a metal track which winds around the back of the headplate.

Check to make sure the two prongs which touch this headplate can do so without any problems. If the internal antenna is corroded, it may need to be replaced.

Most cellphones have varying antenna power, so you can expect to see differences when comparing two cellphones side by side. If you find your phone has no signal mostly when driving, check out this link: http://www.cellantenna.com/Boosters/cellphone_signal_boosters.htm

I hope this helps.
Take care,
Rob Kendrick

Razr V# lost service after using external antenna

I have the same problem. Contacted 3rd party tech, take sharp pick or equal and there is supposedly a button in the very center of the antenna port of the phone. gently push the pick in the center of the jack and it will trip the switch. I tried it on my second damaged phone and it worked, so far.
