Question about Lands Phones

1 Answer

Lg vx8350 Using external antenna port. Phone now refuses to switch back to internal antenna when external antenna is unplugged. No signal now without external antenna. Plug external antenna back in, full signal. Any ideas? Verizon is stumped as usual. They want to blame everything but their phone. Normal

Plugged Wilson 359915 adapter into phone and when removed, can no longer get a signal except in the very best service areas. Seems internal antenna is no longer functioning-either switched off or broken.

The Wilson adapter damaged your internal antenna. I talked to Wilson today to get a part number to buy the adapter and the told me they did not recommend using it as it has damaged a number of phones. They also said that LG might have corrected the problem in the newest production models.

If it's external, the source plugs into a port on the system cabinet. If internal, you change it to external or tones only.

Having to press "Intercom" button

#anything# won't reset that. What do you want to get? From the idle phone, press PROGRAM and dial 19x where x is 0 for none (probably someone dialed 190), 1 for idle line, 2 plus a number 01-36 for a specific line, and 3 for intercom, followed by SAVE or ENTER.

System commands start with *xxx for resets. ie *790# erases some extension features like call forwarding.

There is always static when using the cordless phone

make sure you dont have anything else around the base of your phone, that transmits an RF signal, like wireless routers, cell phones etc........

try replacing the cord that runs from the base of your phone, to the wall, and alsotry changing the channel on the phone if you can.

if none of this helps, unplug your phone from the line and the power, for about 30 minutes, and plug everything back up....wait for another 15 minutes or so (dont answer that phone), and then try to use it....take the battery out of the phone as well, when you unplug the deck.

if you still have the problem, after you have replaced the line too, then their is either a bad connection in the phone itself, or interference coming from something near the phone base, or the phone itself has an internal bad connection. meaning, move the base off by itself somewhere, awayt from other electronics if possible, replace the entire phone, or if that doesnt work, then call your phone company and have them come inspect / repair your line.

"no link to base" error message

Sounds like the antenna is not working, and signal is not getting to the cordless sets.

Try unplugging your base station (unplug everything; power and phone cable - the basestation were all the cords are plugged into) and leave it unplugged, pull out all the batteries in the phones, and then start by putting all the batteries back into the phones.

Once the phones are back and powered up, plug in the base station again, and see if that helps.
All this is doing is re-setting the phones and base station and forcing them to re-link to each other.

I hope this helps.

LG VX8500 Cell phone I can only use the bluetoothed headset to answer and make calls, cannot switch back to regular phone function without using the headset? How do I correct this problem please?

When going back to normal phone functions, some phones require you to disable your Bluetooth before you can operate the phone normally. The only other option you might have would be to try deleting the Bluetooth device from your phone and trying to re-mate it with your phone. It might work, but LG's are notorious for having these little quirks. Hope I've been helpful in solving your problem. Have a nice evening!

SIGNAL BOOSTER FOR CORDLESS HOME PHONE

The only way to increase the range on a cordless phone is to improve the antenna system. Since the antenna is in the base, the easiest thing to do is move the base to a better location, as high as possible. If that is not possible, you can go to any radio repair shop and ask them to open the base and solder an external antenna connector to it. Mine was done for five dollars. Then buy an external high gain antenna of the correct frequency and place it as high as possible in an area free of obstructions. This will improve your range by between 10 and 50 percent. The simplest way is to Google long range phones and make sure you find one at 900 mhz which is a legal frequency. The other phones are illegal in North America because of their potential to interfere with frequencies on such bands as police and fire and amateur. Also, make sure it does not put out more than one watt, (still 10x the power of the average cordless phone). The Engenius is probably the best cordless phone which is legal in Canada and the US but it can get pretty expensive. There is no easy way to do it. I consider myself an expert because I have been researching the issue for many months. I recently bought an ATTCL82209. With the base in a good position with clear line of sight, mine gives me a range of 525 yards which is almost a third of a mile. With an external antenna I have obtained 800 metres which is half a mile. But an urban environment has so many obstacles and variations that consistent long range with any phone is impossible. There is a reason why so many people pay exhorbitant monthly fees to use a cellphone, cellphones are the only real solution to urban communication problems, and the cell providers know it. If you are in Canada, www.3centcell.com, might be a viable solution. Trust me, I know my stuff, I have spent months researching every possible angle.

Sakar phone

I e-mailed Sakar International and got this response...

"We are sorry for the difficulties you are facing with the phone.

We suggest you unplug the phone and remove the batteries from the phone. Connect the phone back and insert the batteries after 10 minutes and check if the problem persists.

Thank you for using Sakar International, the leader in technology."

I haven't tried it yet.
