About 2 weeks ago we shut tv off and it took us forever to turn back on. Finally after trying for an hour or so it came back on. We left it on for two weeks in fear it would shut off. Well, finally it did. Can anyone help and tell us whats wrong? Thanks, Brenda J
My cp150 is 3 times the size of cp114 and cp150 is black with white writing. Cp111 is not like either cp150 or cp114. It is blue, no writing, and looks like what I believe to be a ceramic cap.
My issue was at night we turned off the tv…the next day it would not come back on. Our TV service person told us that it would cost over $450 to fix the small signal board. Sorry but I can’t see putting that much in an old tv.

Trying installing a new power supply. This is the main problem with tv's with the issue. But if you just bought it I would try to get my money back from where I bought it from. Installing a power supply for a tv is not that hard at all.
Your TV is overheating.. easiest remedy is to point a fan at the back of the TV or... clean the inside of the TV, Im sure its full of dust and stuff... this prevents air circulation inside the TV thus creating more heat...
those tvs will try 3 times before completely shutting down. you can try and take the back off and check CP150 it is a large capactior located near the middle of the board on the left hand side(looking from back) if it looks and feels like the top is vented or puffed out then that could be the problem. if not i suggest having a qualifiedservice tech take a lookbecause there are too many things that could be the root cause.
ok i see alot of these at the shop( i have one in front of me right now) The rca itc22 chasis is bad about this.. If the processor finds any problems it will shut it down. THe big problem it can be one of about 20 different things. As the customer the first thing you can do is unplug the set and leave it of 30 min to an hour. then try it again. ( I have yet to see this work) There are some basic assumptions that you can make.. if you see the light flash then it wont be a fuse. the processor is getting power. This is where a technicain starts his troubleshooting. You said it would shut itself down every once in awile... could be a bad connection or a component that finally overheated then failed. The processor on this set records errors so a technician can read these with special computer interface equipment. repairs on the set generally run 150 to 500. These sets are about 800 new at walmart so you have to make the decision to repair
