Hi,
If paper jam light is solid or printer shows paper out light solid all the time,
Then try these suggeted steps:
Take the Tray 2 out and check if all the paper guides are moving freely if they are than remove the toner cartridge and check if any toner sensor is not align correctly.
If they are aligned correctly than next to the pickup roller there is a small piece of plastic make sure it should be hanging freely if it is than we need to perform cold reset of the printer.
Switch off the printer press and hold down the go button and switch the printer on keep holding down go button till the time three lights lit up on control panel, as soon as three lights lits up release the go button and let the printer initialise of it s own.
If that doesn't fix than Formatter Board of the printer is faulty.
Logic:
If there is no paper jam and printer rep[orts the jam means either any of the sensors is not aligned correctly and reporting the jam or formatter Board(Motherboard) of the printer is faulty and showing incorrect display.
Thanks and Regards

SOURCE: The orange light keeps blinking and won't go back

This could be signaling that the toner is empty. Replace the toner and see if the light goes back to green. Hope this helps.

Is there any text to indicate what this light refers to?

In general, you might want to remove paper trays, and use a compressed air can to spray inside the printer, especially the paper path. Oftentimes, paper dust will impede a photo-optic sensor, and keep an indicator light lit when there i no real reason for it. It can also give you a paper jam indication when there is none.

So blow out all paper dust to get the printer to work correctly now.

Cheers!

I have hp deskjet 2300d showing that their is a paperjam. I found no paperjam what do i do

There is a line of sensors along the paper path, if any of these are obscured by even the smallest scrap of paper you will get the messasge, re check the paper path again it only needs a scrap of paper, if you can spot any of the sensors give them a blow with some compressed air (paper dust build up), last but worth a try unplug for 2 minutes to allow residual power to drain and then try power up and see if the message has cleared

Light indicating paperjam is on but there is no visible jam!

Carefully inspect the wheels and gears inside for bits of paper. It could be small, but it would be registered.

Paperjams

Sounds like the pick up rollers are worn or dirty.
You can try to clean them with alcohol.
When you pull the tray out the rollers
should be towards the front of the printer.

The top orange light is on

2 possibilities

1 It is trying to make more than 1 copy and the second one is jamming as it's picking up the paper ( clean tires)

2 it's set to legal instead of letter.

Hp laserjet 6p

The 6p, or at least the ones I?ve seen, have several LEDs so I?m assuming the top one is what is orange. I?ve included the link to the LED codes, however, the three possibilities are top cover open, there is a paper jam or the print cartridge is missing or not installed correctly. LED codes: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=bpl04061&lang=en&cc=us&taskId=120&contentType=SupportFAQ&prodSeriesId=25477&prodTypeId=18972 I would: - try reseating the cartridge - try replacing the cartridge with a new HP one if available. - try blowing out the paper path, could be dust so something small you can?t see. If that fails then its possible you have a failed sensor or electronics board.
