My amana touch pad started going wacko...beeping constantly....then a F1 message....i unplugged it over night....then it worked for about 2 more days with no problems..then the next day it acted up again...Then i unplugged it again( touch pad only) over night . It has now been 1 month and no problems with it....so maybe before you dish out $$$$...maybe this will work for you also
Press and hold the "Start" button to restart the dryer cycle if the "PF" (power failure) error code appears. This code often appears when a cycle is interrupted before it completes. You may also check the breaker or household fuse, and ensure the machine has not come unplugged.
Hi Celine, I just experienced the same exact problem. I came here looking for a solution. I got mine to stop by holding down the cycle signal button for 3 seconds, releasing it for three seconds, and repeating until both lights (loud and soft) went off. Hope it helps.
This symptom indicates a stuck key on the user interface control board. Replacing this control board would most likely fix this type of problem. The part number for the user interface for this model is 8564374.
You can order this part from SearsPartsDirect.com, RepairClinic.com, PartSelect.com etc.
The procedure for replacing this control board is shown in the images below.
Before buying any parts I suggest you access the interface ribbon and disconnect it and then connect it back and see if there is any improvement.
You might also remove the interface from the console and check the console for any stuck buttons.
