I am having problems getting a connection with my wireless router. I have a HP laptop that is connected with Comcast for the Internet (and also have the modem through them). Whenever I try to get it to find the router it says that it's not detecting anything. Do I need to buy some other product to get the router to work or is it something that I am doing wrong? --Thanks
-   the router workes on my other lap top, I just reloaded windows on another lap top I can hook directly to the router and it's alright. If I try wireless it can't seem to link up. Do I need to add an IP address, if so how and where thanks -   griffija

-   I have 2 compact laptop and a desktop. The 2 laptops have windows vista and the desktop has windows xp. The 2 laptops connect to the internet just fine, but the desktop with a Dynex internet usb adapter says that "Windows is unable to find a certificate to log on to the network...". We had it working before we moved then when we hooked it up after moving it started having this problem. I call the tech support for Dynex and once i mentioned the fact it could not find a certificate they told me to call Geek Squad. Is there a way i can get this certificate with out Geek Squad???

You should first verify you have a internet connection to your computer directly from modem. If you do then turn your computer off unplug modem from power supply and remove ethernet connection. Then with cable only attached to modem plug in power supply. Allow enough time for modem to boot completely up. Then plug ethernet back into modem and the other end into router. Then power up router. Allow adequate time to router to sync up. If you never set up your router initially with all security features and access codes for wireless you may need to run set up disk. If this was all previously done then power up computer go to CONNECT TO option on START menu. Your wireless network should be listed with the name you gave it. Select your network. If it is a secured network it will ask for access codes. Enter the codes and you should be able to access internet. If not you may need to run set up disk again or contact manufacturer of router.Good luck

We have a 3000 sq ft split level house, so range is critical (could we extend range with antennas, access points)?
Stability and reliability are also critical
We use a comcast cable modem
Must support mixed environment - 2 Macs connecting wirelessly, 2 PCs (1 with a wired connection)
We all want to be able to share a printer (which will connect to router with a wired connection)
Network attached storage, media streaming - I'm not worried about these now, looking for basic connectivity. Though would be great if I could grow into this in the future...

Two windows 7 PCs connected to DLINK DGS-1005D gigabit switch. Switch is commected to DSL-G604T wireless modem/router (old gen1 model). All works fine for a while then internet access speeds for one computer on the switch drops to about 10% normal. Plugging this PC directly to the router stops problem and works fine - but then i loose the gigabit speed link with the other PC.

I recently purchased a Belkin N150 (during the walmart black friday sale) and it has been running fine since I pulled it out of the box. Three times now, when trying to connect to my router with my wireless laptop, the computer does not connect to the router. The light on the router stays off until I pull the power cord for 10 seconds and a hard reset is done. I tried going through settings but I can't figure it out. Is this my router or my computer which I just recently put Windows 7 on.
