My friend had the same problem and she called this number 1-888-777-0773 to report it and request a replacement and they were able to help. She did ask however why this has not been recalled and he said it is because she was the first one to report this problem.

Se e4 on my cooker what do i do

The problem is a Signal Switch Malfunction. It has to do with the power switch and the pressure switch from what I have been able to find out. Mine doesn't have a pressure problem it just goes to E4 once you set the time. I gave the switch a good smack and it has been working for a while. This is the second time and this worked both times now. I am sure the switch will have to be replaced at some time. From what I have seen this is a very common problem. There is one way to fix this problem, albeit not the best. I was able to bypass the E4 error by completely bypassing the electronics and wiring the heater coil to get power whenever the pressure cooker is plugged in. It was a very simple job, anyone with any electrical experience can do this. The only problem is that it is a safety concern as there is no way for the heater to turn off even if pressure is getting to be way too high. There may be a pressure relief valve in the lid but the heater coil won't shut off, so don't leave it unattended! But at least this way to you can still pressure cook. Just been given crock pot with 3 settings can you explain them no manual came with pot

It sure would help us to help you if you could get the model number off of the bottom of the unit. I can probably locate a user's manual with that information. Try this site to locate the manual: (my best guess without a model number)
http://safemanuals.com/314159.php?k=84c8d7db0922eceeab89e8e236b92e45&ID=2854106&q=CROCK%20POT%20SMART%20POT
(209k)
Find the little blue print that says enter security code and then you can dounload the manual.
The settings should be OFF High 4 High 6, Low 8 Low 10 and warm.

1. Place food in stoneware according to recipe.

2. Plug in Smart-Pot™ slow cooker. The Power light will begin to flash

indicating that the unit is plugged in, but not turned on.

HOW TO PROGRAM YOUR SMART-POT™ (CONT.)

3. Push the Cook Time button to scroll through the timed cooking

options. Push once and the 4 hour light will illuminate, twice and the

6 hour light will come on, etc. Select the time based on the length of

time indicated in the recipe. Two time options are usually given. The 4

and 6 hour settings are the HIGH temperature setting and may be

used when you want your food done quicker. The 8 and 10 hour

settings correspond to the LOW temperature setting and is used for all

day cooking. In addition your Smart-Pot™ can be set to the Warm

Setting by scrolling through the timed cooking options until the warm

light illuminates.

NOTE: The Warm setting is for keeping already hot food warm. Do not use

the warm setting to cook or reheat food.

4. When the cooking time is completed, the Smart-Pot™ slow cooker will

automatically shift to the Warm setting and the Warm light will come

on. NOTE: We do not recommend using the Warm setting for more

than 4 hours.

5. To turn the Smart-Pot™ off push the OFF button. Unplug unit from the

wall outlet.

6. For other recipes that give a range of times, select the time closest

to the setting on your Smart-Pot™. For instance a recipe calling for

cooking time of 7 to 9 hours on LOW, set your Smart-Pot™ to 8 hours.

NOTE: If power goes off then power light will blink and settings must be

reset. If cook time is changed before the cycle is complete the time will
reset to the new setting.

I need the user instructions for use

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly
I see I am nearly a month late in replying to your post. I just answered another post and when I finished I saw your question.
This is driectly from the user's manual that you can find here with some difficulty:
http://safemanuals.com/314159.php?k=84c8d7db0922eceeab89e8e236b92e45&ID=2854106&q=CROCK%20POT%20SMART%20POT
(Avoid answering questions by looking for the blue text that says "security code" and clicking that) Then enter the 4 digit code to download the manual that is 209k)

That is pretty much the entire user instructions. Everything else is warnings, cautions, and oh yes; don't submerge it in water yadda yadda....

Kelly

Is there a way to set high with more than 6 hours ? I need to set mine for 20 hours in high.

Not unless there is a delay setting on the machine. You could get a timer plug to put into the wall socket. The type you use to ste lights to come on and off when away from home.

My smartpot shut it self off and wont turn turn back on

try holding the reset button down, plugging it in, and then releasing it after maybe 5-10 sec.

if your familiar with computers.... try repeatedly pushing the reset button as you plug it in... kind of a total reset

other than that it sounds like a glitch.... how long have you had it.... Mmm, consider calling the company and explaining complete mechanical failure. Hey, you never know if you don't try. Happy Holidays... best of luck

once the slow cooker reaches a temperature set point it shuts off. when the internal temperature drops the thermostat turns on again, otherwise even at a low heat, everything inside would boil away. Hence the term "slow cooker."

Displays E 01

Talked to the nice lady at West Bend. Apparently, the problem comes up when the unit is "cold"... whatever that means. She said to plug it in, wait a second, then push the power button, then "cook" immediately. No pause. Don't hold either button. I tried it, it worked on mine.

Apparently, this a feature for some reason.
