Question about Sony FWD-50PX1 50 in. HD-Ready Plasma Television
My Sony KDF-60WE655 was working just fine the all of the sudden it went dim. It is still possible to view a program but not well. I have the manual and have adjusted the brightness but with little influence. Any ideas to fix this would be greatly appreciated.
Replace the lamp.Use an original Sony lamp. Next would be the lamp power supply and last, the optical block

There is more than one flourescent tube in your TV, It could be possible that one after the other has failed, these should usually last a few years depending on usage.
If it is not the tubes then there may be a fault in the backlight inverter although this would more likely show up as a sudden failure.
How old is your TV?
