The first thing u need to do if the picture is snowy and u have cable is u can call them out to check out the cable line if u dont what to to that if u have another tv set u could hook up in the same spot as your other tv that is snowy and see if the other tv is doing the same thing if it is u know it is your antenna systems and not your tv, now if it is your tv it will have a bad tuner in the set but if u have a vcr u could hook the vcr thru the video inputs that is on your tv and then switch your tv to video source and use your vcr as a tunner thru your video input on the tv and u dont have to speen any money on a repair and it will work just like your tv tuner does.

tuner may be bad, it is possible if rear inputs work to route signal to one of those inputs by using a box with the same type of connections the rear inputs have--bypass the tuner in the set with a box.

No picture in a picture

The picture for picture-in-a-picture must come from somewhere. Try a DVD for the picture in picture. It may be the second tuner for the picture in picture that has failed.

Samsung hlp4667 only get a picture with HD input.

is there anything else hooked up to your tv other than cable or satellite? if no other components (dvd, vhs, etc) then you will get a snowy screen because the other inputs are for other components that are hooked up. a picture is showing on the HD input because you have cables hooked into that input.

Not sure what causes it but it can be fixxed by your local repair guy, I just had mine fixxed for under a hundred bucks, he takes the back off and with a tiny screw driver adjust a few screws to near brand new perfect picture.. and it has been good ever since

Mitsubishi medallion 65" hdtv

the dm module power supply is developing leaky capacitors and will eventually cause the set to not come on at all. this may also be causing the snowy picture if you are useing the digital tuner. The dm module will require repair to resolve these issues.

Snowy picture

Usually a snowy picture means that you have a bad ground connection. You should see that some channels are beter than others. Verify that the cable connection is good. Try a different cable if you can. If that has no effect, than we need to start looking at the tuner itself. If you can change channels but just have a poor picture, chances are that a resolder of the tuner section will resolve the problem.

Misubishi warrior 2 intermitant pic freezes 1 second or less

Hello frogman,

The freezing of the picture denotes a loss of signal on a digital (Having a ATSC tuner) TV. If your TV is not digital (Having a ATSC tuner) then it is the device that you have connected to the TV (Cable Set-top Box, DTV Tuner, etc). In the likelihood that it is your TV I would suggest getting a better antenna first if that does not fix the problem you may have a tuner problem. However lets not look at it that way first. What we need to do is to determine if it is the TV of whatever you have connected to the TV.
First unhook the connection you have from the cable to your F connector of the TV (you should see snow or a blank screen) connect a antenna to the F connector of the TV, do you see a snowy picture or a clear sharp picture (snowy= NTSC tuner, clear-sharp= ATSC tuner). If the tuner is NTSC then check you cable device and the connection between your TV and the device and the cabling between the device and the wall. If the Tuner is ATSC then you will have to check all of your connections, and finally if the tuner is bad it has to be replaced by a qualified Tv repair shop.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,

Snowy picture

Hi,

A snowy video indicates that your input signal is relatively weak. On the other hand, a noisy picture is when there are too much interference is super imposing on the video.

Snowy picture comes about when the signal coming in the RF INput (Ant/Cable) at the back of the unit is below a certain level. If this is the case, then it is not a problem with your TV but rather your aerial (antenna) or the cable from your provider. A way to verify that it is the ant/cable that is the cause and not a defective TV/tuner is to hook up an old VCR set to Ch. 3 or 4 to the RF IN of your TV using a short 75 ohms coaxial cable terminated at both ends with FP-5 connector. Play a known clear good tape and set your TV to Ch. 3 or 4 as the case maybe. If the picture is relatively clearer, better, then you have just confirmed that it is indeed your aerial or your cable (provider) that needs looking into. If on the other hand, the VCR signal is also snowy then chances are that you have a problem with the input stage of your TV including possibly your tuner.

For your aerial problem, antenna orientation or replacing with a higher gain antenna might help solve the snowy signal. For your cable problem, you have to call-in for service from your cable provider. If it is a TV problem, your best course would be to seek the services of a qualified TV technician since this involve electronic circuitry analysis, diagnosis and possible component replacements.

Additionally, you may try looking for any loose connection, loose grounding, broken wire or anything out of the ordinary in your connections.

Hope that this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turned out or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
