1.Disconnect the power cable from the back of the printer.
2. Hold down the Stop/Clear button. (To the right of the Black Copy button.)
3.While keeping the button pressed down, reconnect the power cable. A message on the LCD will display MEMORY CLEARING. Note: The Fax, Copy and Scan buttons will remain ON until the message disappears. Only the Fax button should be ON when the function is complete.
can you clarify? This is a fairly straightforward replacement.....Lift up the face of the machine, wait for the carriage to come over and fully stop moving, remove old cartridge and replace with new.....maybe more info on what is actually happening or not.....

In this Case take out the Paper from the Paper Feed Tray........ Unplug the Power Supply from the Printer.......... Remove both the Cartridges from the Printer.......... Now take a size 10 Envelope fold it so that it should become like a thin long strip........ Now Insert that Envelope on the left side corner of the Printer and move it from right to left and left to right as fast as u can for about 10 times.......... Now Insert the Ordinary Papers onto the Printer and insert both the catridges and Turn on the Printer......
