The video cord could be bad or it could be loose at the 321 or your TV.
There could also be an incorrect setting in the system menu of your 321.
The unit must be on NTSC not PAL. With the series II and III systems you may also need to designate what type of video cable you are using. You will get a B&W picture if you are using a component video cable but the system is set to composite.

My dvd movies only plays in black and white.

are you using component video cables (red, green, blue) or composite (yellow, red, white)
most of the time if the blue or red cables from the component area seated firmly they cause the picture to be in black and white.

Bose lifestyle 48 dvd black and white only

Go to the "Bose" menu screen viewing on your TV (make sure no dvd is in the player) Go to your Video controls and check your output, chances are, if your using the component output your player is set to "S-Video". Should fix the problem. Hope this helps. If it's still not viewing correctly, post a comment and I will help you some more

Check the region and picture settings on the home theatre's dvd player, it could be set to put out a component signal, or it could be set to a PAL region rather than NTSC

Check the video connections on the back of the Bose unit. I have a Lifestyle 38 and had an issue with video only playing in black & white. Turned out to be a loose connection.

DOESN'T PLAY DVD MOVIES IN COLOR

ok they have 4 causes. 1.laser lens 2.flex ribbon wire 3.video drive 4.change motherboard. OR CHECK THE PALSECAM AND NTSC SELECTION ON YOUR REMOTE CONTROL. THAT IS FIRST IMPORTANT! CHECK YOUR SYSTEM (PAL or NTSC).
