Epson stylus CX3200: Red error light is on and I can't reset. Just changed the color cartridge and forgot to remove the tape on cartridge. Was able to remove tape but still unable to reset and return printer to service.

Hi,

May I offer an alternative possible solution...Pls try:

  • Download, Install and run the SSC Service Utility;
  • Function of the utility is explained here;
  • Reset the Protect Counter;
  • Perform an actual reset on the printer (triangle & color buttons).
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Unplug your unit form the wall and let it sit for about 5 minutes and hopefully it will reconfigure itself on startup.

Unplug the power for a minute to see if it resets.
If it gives you the same error light, Remove the cartridge Unplug the printer, and clean both the rear of the cartridge nontact and the contacts in the printer with a lint free cloth and a LITTLE warm water. Then Dry it and try again.

Bought new cartridged, replaced the old one but the content is not getting printed


Hi,

Check the control panel for error indicators. The error light is to the left of the display and is marked "Error," it will illuminate. The error will appear on the screen and is in plain English, so very simple to interpret. An example is "Color or Black Ink Out," meaning there's no ink.

  • 2 Verify that the Epson Stylus CX3200 is connected to the printer with a cable. Try connecting without a USB hub while troubleshooting---that way you can identify if the problem is with the hub or printer. Replace the cable, it may be bad.
  • 3 Print a nozzle check pattern to determine the extent of the problem. The nozzle check will allow you to determine whether the printer will print at all, and the results will give you a good indication of print problems. Press the Menu button on the Control Panel until you see Nozzle Check and press the Color Copy button.
  • 4 Replace the printer cartridges if the Control Panel suggests you do so. Press the Menu button until you see "Change Cartridge" Press the Color Copy button and the cartridges will move to their change position. Lift the scanner and unclamp the cartridge. Replace the cartridge---color is on the right and black on the left. The Epson Stylus CX3200 will start charging the cartridge and after about thirty seconds the printer will be ready for use.

    Epson cx3200 printer has printing problem

    You can diagnose most problems by checking the control panel LED's for ink out, paper-out or copier problem.
    If a problem occurs while you're printing, you'll see an error message in the progress window on your computer.
    It may also be helpful to try running a printer nozzle check.

    See the following message problems and solutions:

    Press the Color Copy button to install a new ink cartridge.
    The indicated cartridge is not installed or it is installed incorrectly. Color or black ink out - - >
    Press the Color Copy button to begin replacing the ink cartridge.

    Green and red lights on solidly, error message saying 'cartridge not recognized' even when it is a brand new Epson cartridge! Tried a reset but it doesn't make any difference


    When you installed the cartridge, did you check for any protective tape on the cartridge at the bottom. This is a common missed item in the installation process. If there is tape on it, check instructions and remove it. The cartridge will not work otherwise.

    Ink level at chip reach zero. Reset ink level counter using hardware resetter. Or Use CISS chip with autoreset.

    I just like to ask to where specifically you can see the red light. It will help us determine what cause the red light. To give you heads up as well, the Printer's LCD screen can help us determine what exactly the offline condition of the CX3200 is:

    Printer fails


    Need more info. than this. What exactly is the issue - is the printer feeding paper? Is the ink not printing etc.
