Question about Panasonic KX-TG2214 Cordless Phone

Phone interfering with wireless router

I have a Panasonic KX-TG2214 cordless phone and unfortunately it needs to be close to where my wireless DSL router is. The phone experiences problems when someone is browsing the internet. How do I change the frequency of the phone? Another phone of mine allows me to change the frequency a wee bit (which is enough to prevent the phone and router from interfering with each other) but I don't know how do do this on the KX-TG2214. Thanks.

Try using a line filter in the wire from the phone socket to the coedless phone base
you can get line extensions that allow you to position the phone base any where so being too close is not an excuse

SOURCE: phone ringer

You can download the manual for a very similar phone, the KX-TG2302 at and you can figure out all the features of a KX-TG2303. The simple answer is: while you are not using the phone, press the up or down volume button and it should turn the ringer back on. To turn the ringer back off, press and hold the down volume button until you hear two beeps. You can adjust the volume while the phone is ringing. The manual will tell you how to change your ringer tones, etc.

SOURCE: Changing hold music - Panasonic KX-T7433

If it's truly music and not tones, the music comes from a device plugged into the system cabinet. On the side of the system there is a port marked MOH with a cable and a box at the other end. Here's where you find the MOH device and either change the CD or record new messages into it.

Intellitouch has a product called message studio that lets you make your own message on hold messages here:

The demo is free, and a licensed product is about $30.

New issue after a few years of good service, very heavy static on all phones in the system. It is not the DSL filter, as i tried a new one.

Is it possible that the DSL line is filtered outside or the phone jack is defective? Has anything changed recently? Try isolating the DECT 6.0 phone system. Otherwise, consider replacing it with a 5.8 GHz system. I have a the same system (the Panasonic KX-TGA402N -- the three pack, a old 900 MHz cordless answering phone, several Bluetooth devices, and a 2.4 GHz wireless router (Linksys WRT54G2.) I have no noise problem. If you can't determine the source of the interference, I assume you already replaced the phone system.

If you can, turn your wireless router off, as this can cause this type of interferance.
If this improves your telephone problem, try changing the router channell.
Good luck.

Interference on cordless Panasonic phone

The wireless signal is most likely your culprit. Wireless-B and Wireless-G signals operate at 2.4GHz frequency, which is the same that many cordless phones use.

Some wireless routers will allow you to change the channel that they broadcast on -- that might help your interference problem slightly, but it probably won't make it go away completely. Your best bet is to keep the cordless phone a good distance away from the computer and wireless router (if not in another room, at least on the other side of the room).

Hope that helps!
