Question about Ovens
Hello. I have a Frigidaire Stove, Model FEF336ASF. Recently, the oven element will not turn off through the normal method. The only way to turn it off is by unplugging it. Please advise. Thanks
Depending on thebrand and model.. you may have one of several problems with your stove. Your heating element power may be get its power via a relay or contactor which may be stuck on all the time. To de-energize it, you remove main power and it actuates to the Normally Open position but when you select that element to be turned on and the contactor/relay is switched from Normally Open to energized and Normally Closed, it provises power to that element. You may have a bad relay/contactor ofr the controller is defective. Removing power will deenergize the relay/contactor but that contactor is a slave to the controller, 50/50 which component is the root cause of your problem..
