Question about Canon XL2 Mini DV Digital Camcorder
I'm having issues with the 'eject' function of my canon xl2.
This morning, seemingly out of nowhere, this is began. I had seen no previous signs until today.
Upon hitting the 'eject' button, nothing happened. I had to hit eject about a dozen times before the carriage would go through its process and open up. The mechanics seem to operate fine once it goes. Once the ejection process actually starts, everything moves fine and seemingly without issue. Also, upon closing the carriage it closes fine and goes back down fine.
However, it seems extremely sporadic. It seems like I have to push the eject button many times before something will happen. It seems more like some kind of connection issue, that when the eject button is pushed whatever connection must be made to trigger the carriage system to operate is just not making that connection. That's my best guess.
It is probably a faulty switch, in any case, either is the switch or a
wiring problem, the camera must be taken apart to fix this.
The job must be done at a repair shop.
