My girlfriend in Hong Kong has an A4tech webcam. It was working before she went home. When she got back, it was not. She tried to reinstall it, but it says the program is already running so she can't. She tried to unistall it, but it won't permit that either. How can she either fix it or shut it off so she can reinstall it?

Veo drivers are not available unless you pay for them. Better to purchase a Microsoft or Logitech web camera because the support the products and keep the drivers software updated. Hope this is of some help. Bud
maybe you dont have the driver for you webcam.. when you bought it, they shoud've give you a CD for the webcam so you can install and use it on your desktop... if you lost it, try searching for the driver of the webcam and type its model..
This is because either you or she has set Skype dup to behave this way. Open Skype, under tools -> options -> video settings set up to your preferences. Do the same with audio settings too if you want. Your girlfriend has enabled instant messaging service, but not video service.
If you can live without all the fancy background stuff that comes with some webcams, it is true that Windows (XP) has generic drivers that will work with any USB connected webcam. A GREAT program that I found on the web to use with my cheap, generic, sent from Hong Kong, bought on eBay, LED lit webcam, is called YAWCAM. (Yet Another Webcam software. Goggle that in your browser. It is FREE and gives much control to your cam. If this has been helpful, please rate me accordingly. Thanks and good luck.
If you go to the front of the webcam, their is the camera surrounded by a dial. Turn the dial until the picture comes in clearly, and when you get it perfect, don't touch it. Just leave it the way it is and your all set. Hope this Helped -CA
