Speakers are connector in the back, the light green connector. If you have no sound, you need to download the drivers.
Here is the driver page from Dell for your computer. You can download and install the drivers you need:
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&ServiceTag=&SystemID=DIM_P4_4600&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid=

You may have to copy and paste the link into your browser.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.

Why does the audio cut out on acer z5700 speakers when you connect to a source at the audio output in the back.(expect this only when you connect headphones to headphone input)

When you connect headphones to your computer the computer will only send sound through the headphones and not allow sound to come out of the speakers. this is the way almost all audio drivers are setup, it detects the speakers and the headphones as 2 different devices and will only play sound through one (headphones first and if there are no headphones then speakers).

The only way I know to resolve this (and I hate this suggestion) is to purchase a headphone splitter. Connect the speakers and the headphones through the splitter, the quality of the splitter will determine the quality of the sound.

You could try going to the audio driver options (if there is any program installed by the audio driver) to see if you can get it to play through both but with both my Acer laptops I have been unsuccessful.

Hope this helps.

MY DELL COMPAQ HAS NO SOUND AT ALL IT IS OPTIPLEX GX270

Are the speakers connected? Or perhaps it's an activation issue. Try looking in control panel, hardware and sound, then sound, and make sure your speakers are activated and your computer is feeding audio to them! =]

I need to hook speakers up to my Dell B110 computer.

2 things are needed to get sound from your speakers:

1-wiring connecting your speakers to a socket to the back of the computer. (The spot they need to plug in to ON YOUR COMPUTER is a small light green circular socket. The other end of the plug you plug in here should run to one of your speakers *usually the right side speaker-the right speaker should then have separate wiring to connect the left speaker.)

2- A source of power.
Some speakers use their own power source and plug in to a power outlet - your wall. Other types have a USB type plug and plug into a USB port in your computer and that is how THOSE get their power.

Those are the basics of sound setup. Some computers are equipped with more complicated setups such as surround sound, subwoofers, digital and more. Reply if you need more help, I will try to assist you further.

Hope this helps.

Since moving house can't get sound from PC speakers, packed, unpacked, disconnected and reconnected myself, I must have missed out a connection or connected something wrongly. Regards Stan

I suppose that you have plugged the green plug of the speakers in the green socket from the mainboard, in the back. And , of course, the speakers are still functional - try them with any other device that has a 3.5 mm plug.
Probably the audio setup was disturbed: unplug the speakers from the pc, reboot, plug in the speakers - the Audio Manager (the one that controls what and where is plugged) should open to ask you what has been plugged. If it doesn't do that unplug the speakers again and open it manually. If when you plug the speakers it doesn't sense that then the audio driver is busted - reinstall it.

No audio to speakers on hp 552w com

Good day sir/ma'am, hi, If your PC does not produce sound, it could be any of the following so check the list one by one:
  1. Your device driver for the sound is not yet installed. locate the CD that comes with your PC. I could help you find the driver if you add any information about your PC model or motherboard maker, you can download the driver at driverguide.com, just note the maker and model.
  2. Your volume is either in mute or in a low volume setting. Check the taskbar at the lower right side of the desktop, if you see a speaker icon, right click it and set the volume level to high.
  3. Your speakers is not connected to the audio port. Check the baby plug stereo speaker connector for open wires, if the wires are good connect it to the green audio port at the back panel of the PC, (usually pink, blue and green are side by side)
  4. Your speakers are not working properly. If you have portable mp3 players, plug in your speakers to test the speaker unit itself.
  5. Worst come to worst if your green audio port is the defective one. you can use the blue one provided you enable 4 channel, so sound is also sent to the blue port.
  6. your built in sound card is bad, you can get a replacement soundcard of any brand, provided its PCI slot. or get those small USB type sound card.
  7. Check also the BIOS setup, see if the built in sound card is enabled.
If I miss anything feel free to ask, hope these will solve your sound problems.

Computer not recognizing speakers

There should be something in your sound, video, and game controllers that says something like "Realtek High Definition Audio". Double click on that, and make sure that it is enabled. If this entry is completely missing, reboot, and enter the BIOS setup (I'm not sure how that works on your specific PC) and make sure that the onboard sound is enabled there.
