Where do I connect the speakers to the monitor. I have a Flatron L1922P monitor. I ordered 2.0 USB Multimedia speakers that come with a 3.5mm stereo plug and USB plug. I must not being doing something...

Your speakers do not plug into your monitor. Your speakers should be connected to a USB slot on your PC tower and the 3.5mm stereo plug should be put into the green stereo jack on your PC tower. If your audio jacks on your PC are not colour coded, then you should look for the jack which has a picture of a set of earphones over them.
Depending on your speakers, you may or may not be required to keep the stereo plug connected in order to get sound. Some models transmit model over the USB connection and others just use the USB connection as a way to supply power to the speakers and need the stereo plug to be connected in order to have sound. I suggest trying both.

I moved recently and also got a new tower (windows 7) dell, anyway, when I set up my monitor/computer I couldn't get any sound out to the speakers on the back of the monitor. Is there something else I need...

Should be a green line out wire that plugs into the green port on your sound chip / sound card and into a 2.5mm jack on the rear of the monitor, can get one of these dirt cheap from maplins/ radio shack

Cannot connect speakers to new monitor

if these external expeakers look something like these.. http://www.kelley.iu.edu/TS/z_images/AS501ultra.jpg
those are made specifically for Dell monitors on very exclusive models and they will not fit any other, as the monitor itself provides the power and has the audio output for them.

Audio problems

To use the integrated speakers on this monitor you will need the audio cable. Most monitors with built in speakers has a single cable with a green jack on both ends. It would plug into the audio jack on the back of your monitor and connect the monitor to your soundcard jack on the back of your pc. Cable should be able to be purchased at any electronics/computer store. Hope this helps.

You don't plug them in on your monitor; you plug them into the back of the computer, the green plug.

No sound coming from my Dell 173FP monitor

This monitor does not have built in speakers you will need to buy some... The AS 500 soundbar fits on to it but is now not available. See if you can find it second hand.. Or buy USB speakers that fit into the back of your PC as the mointor does not have any ports.

Speakers - monitor E15T4

Every monitor doesn't have a place to plug speakers, does the monitor have speakers built in? You may have to plug your speakers up directly to the computer, imagine that!
