Question about Epson Aculaser C1100 Printer

2 Answers

Swopping cartridges When I first set up my Epson C1100, I stupidly put the yellow toner in the magenta slot and visa versa. The printer now prints green images in a brown colour. Can I remove the cartridges and place them back in the right positions? If so, how do I do this?

You need to use the menu on the printer to move the appropriate cartridge around, one at a time. Whatever the first colour you replace, you may need a spare cartridge, as this printer does not like empty slots!

With the printer in idle mode (you may see Ready or Sleep in the LED), go to the Reset menu by pressing the small button with the Enter symbol beside (crooked arrow).

Then press the down (bottom button of the four small ones) until you see "Change Toner ?" and press the Enter button again.

The printer will move the appropriate cartridge to the front and you can change it.

As the previous poster mentioned, you are going to need some LINT FREE cloth or printer cleaning tissues (don't use normal tissue to wipe the inside of the printer under any circumstances - you may end up with bits left inside).

Do a couple of test prints until the toner colours clear up.

You can swap them again, but be careful because it is a job that requires some kleenex, for the ink will spill easily from the cartridges. I am really not sure if the jets are part of the cartridge or not, but if they are not, you will get weird printings for a while.
Good luck.

Ok. There must be a button with a teardrop symbol on it. You just have to open the lid and press that button for a few seconds. That should make the cartridge slots move around for a while and finally stop in the position where you can remove them.

Installing Epson TO88120 on Epson NX1000

On the LCD display choose the 'Reset Menu'Then within that menu keep going through the (many) options 'till you get to 'Change Toner K' (K for black, C for Cyan, M for magenta,Y for yellow).
Once you select the appropriate Toner it will rotate to offer the toner for replacing.
Open up the cover at the front, reach inside and change the position of the coloured part of the toner cartridge on the R/H side to the Unlock symbol and then ease the cartridge out. It comes out at a slight angle as the part you move to unlock it comes out slightly ahead of the other side.
Put the new toner cartridge in and turn the coloured part to the locked symbol and close up.

How to change cartdridge for other color???

If you wait until the colour has completely run out, you will see a message to that effect, and the correct cartride will be presented. If you wish to change before this:

1. On the printers' control panel, press the "right" button (labeled no. 3) once and then the "down" button (labeled no. 4) until you see the RESET MENU.
2. Press the "right" button (labeled no. 3) once.
3. Press the "down" button (labeled no. 4) until you see "CHANGE TONER X" appear on the screen (where X is either C, M, Y or K, Cyan. Magenta, Yellow or Black).
4. Press the "right" button (labeled no. 3) once. The printer will rotate the toner carousel to the correct position for you to change.
5. Open the printer door and change the toner as normal.

Wrong colour

This could one of a few fairly major problems. The easiest way to track down the fault is start by replacing the consumables - make sure you install them in the correct positions - it is possible on the C1100 to put them in the wrong places!! Change the toners first. Most importantly the magenta and yellow. Print several pages. Use MS Paint or similar to create a page with all four component colours on (cyan, magenta, yellow and black)in large blocks (see image below) and print them full page. Now look at the print and see if any one colour is missing or has reduced density. If you have a spare PCU you should but that in next. Let me know what the print outs look like and we will progress to the next step.
