If you mean a mini dvd from a camcorder, your computer may not be able to read that particular video format. Will the mini dvd work in a different computer? Have you ever been able to read a mini dvd before?

Not that familiar with mini DVD camcorder format issues. Try re-posting your question in the Hitachi brand category.

Try to test your mini dvd to the other pc's that can read dvd.if it works fine then there's something wrong with your pc.
make sure your video and audio driver are correctly installed to your pc.
and try to download video and audio codecs:http://www.free-codecs.com/

install the downloaded video/audio codecs, then restart your pc.

hope it will help. tnx 4 using fixya!

it seems that you got a bad copy in minidisk...it happens sometime when you do burning and do other things in the computer or do downloading at the same time, when you do burning... the burner program used a lot of chunks of memory from RAM,if you got only small value of RAM,you're having a bigchance of diskburn failure when you do things at same time while burning. it makes bad or corrupting data in process of burning.

try to burn disk and leave it till it finished burning!

Misplaced manual - want to install CD-ROM for first time - no slot available

Do you mean you want to install a CD-ROM drive, like it doesn't have one? It comes with a super-multi DVD drive that reads and writes CD's and DVD's.

Because it's a very small desktop unit, it only has room for one 3.5" hard drive and one DVD drive. Consider an USB external drive. They work fine.

My CD drive on my computer works sometimes and doesn't work other times. It will read data cd's more often than music cd's.

Some CD drives don't read all types of disks. For example it may not read DVD-R disks but will read DVD+R or Bluray disks. If you provide the model number of your drive I can give you a more detailed answer.

CD/DVD drive on e-Machine T3120 reads disc, but won't write disc!

You can try going to Emachines website and update the drivers for that drive. If that doesnt work, it is possible the drive itself is going bad.

Emachine t6216 cd rom wont read

update your driver software for the cd/dvd drive that you have just go to the emachine support website lookup your computer and download the drivers for the drives if that doesnt work it might be a loose connection in the case open the case and make sure all the connections in the case are connected tight and right to the cd/dvd drive

I bought the ovo 3. photo manager and need a download to connect with the device as the cd is a mini

The majority of DVD/CD-Roms have a built-in slot that is capable of holding the mini disks. Try putting it in your cd-rom and load it up. I would expect it to read just fine.

Dvd drive no longer plays dvds on emachines T3410

When the CD/Dvd Drive becomes old the Optical Lense is not strong enought to read DVD because DVD is more dense than CD track. You can Try to clean the lense. There are lense cleaner available on the market.

New PC not accepting mini DVD-R disc

I've had a look at the Acer Aspire X1200 in a photo and it seems to stand upright with the dvd drive coming out sideways. There is no real groove on the inside of the disc tray to keep the mini DVD-R disc held in place.  There may be a way to remove the stand that holds it upright. Then turn it on the side that you lean it on. That would be the way it would have to sit permenantly by the looks of it. If the stand doesn't come off then I'd suggest just turning it on it's side anyway, not ideal but it will read the disk. I dont think there is anything else you could do to make it read the disc whilst standing up, I'm afraid.
