I need to find out the Remote Control Model Number for this Converter box. I think I don't have the right one!

If the Magnavox converter box was provided through a cable or satellite dish TV services provider, then contact that organization and ask for a replacement remote control. You will probably need to provide the Customer Service Representative your customer ID number and possibly some other identifying information, including the model number on the converter box.

If the converter box is one you purchased yourself, then you may find a remote control which works for it by conducting a search using your favorite search engine (Google, Bing, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo, etc.) and the following search strategy, using quotation marks as shown:
Magnavox "converter box"remote

You may be able to purchase a universal remote which can be programmed to work with your converter box.

Your remote is only able to control TVs and DVD players. It will not control your DTV Converter Box.

Try to Google the model number for the remote to get a list of possible codes and instructions---it may not work on the set you have.

You haven't specified the exact model number of your RCA remote control. Three device remotes for RCA is in many model numbers. If it is RCA Systemlink-3 remote control, there is no setup code for Apex Digital Converter Box. OK.

There are a lot of possible RCA TV codes programmed into the DTA800B1 remote.
Try the following three digit codes: RCA 000, 001, 005, 072, 073, 074, 075, 076, 077, 078, 135,
138, 140, 144, 150, 156, 159, 162, 163, 169, 171, 178, 229, 246, 249, 260, 274, 275, 293, 302 in order.

To program the remote. Turn on your TV manually and press PGM (to the left of the zero in the number pad section). The LED should light and stay lit. Type in the first 3 digit code and press OK (in the center of the arrow keys near the top). See if the gray volume up/down keys work to change the volume. If it doesn't work press PGM again and enter the next code.

Note that the converter box remote will only turn on and off, switch the input from Channel 3 or 4 to AV in, adjust the volume and mute the TV. It will not control any of the DVD functions. Your original TV remote will not control the converter box.

If the tv remote is the original TV remote, it won't control the converter box (if this is an digital-to-analog converter). If it is another remote, then maybe. It depends on the remote and when it was programmed.

Most remotes are limited to codes for devices released at least 6 months before the remote was programmed. Thus is your TV remote was programmed in late 2006, then it may have the right code. Some universal remotes support the converter boxes; others don't. If you provide additional information on the remote, I may be able to give you more specific details for your situation.

U can't in most cases,that why they called a secret passwords codes.U only can tries this by unplug the converter box and replug it back 24 hours later.Go to parental control codes mode and resetting the mode,might resetting the mode and erase the secret passwords codes,only some models of boxes could do this,ur included don't know sorry.

RCA's site list codes 25 and 006 for Magnavox cable boxes. Maybe one of these will work for the converter. The RCA site has a link so you can look up codes. Click on "find your remote control codes here" and pick your model number, then the type of device you want to control. If the codes I gave don't work, maybe try some of the other brands of cable box codes. You might find one that will work.

i can not get my tv to pick up a signal.I know my antena works i have tried it on other tvs.Has anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it?
