Let the machine cycle without water or load, just let it spin just to isolate the problem if its the motor or the timer circuit. If it still stops without water, its the problem with your timer. That one needs further diagnosis. Double check any loose wires or and faulty electrical and electronic component using a multi meter tester. If you found nothing suspicious, replacing the timer might fix the issue. If it doesn't stop without load or water, its the motor problem. The motor can be replaced as well.

First try another gadget, a lamp or something on the wall plug, to see if the point is live. Then check your washer plug, could be that the fuse in the plug has blown, check out your washer wire....motor brushes can be replaced in situ but you will find it easier to remove the motor.

take the rear cabinet half off and undo electrical connections to motor. motor is held in by 4 bolts. undo and motor will slip out.

brushes are located towards the end away from the pulley and held in by 2 small bolts. undo, withdraw brushes and see if badly worn

easier way is to check continuity across the brushes with the motor in situ using a multimeter

With this zanussi model a re-occuring problem that a lot owners are reporting is the water is not filling up the tub fast enough and the sensor shuts down the cycle. You will not see an error code for this because the pcb doesn't see this as an error. Check your filter to see if it is clogged, check water connection and make sure there is adequate water flow. The key here was no error code. Just not enough water to satisfy the sensor.

That can be a problem with the cycle timer, check if water is being pumped into the machine, or it is being drained out.

When the cycle does not advance, it is generally either a problem with a defective control timer, and in that case the timer should be replaced, or a problem with the water supply at the back.
If cycle get stuck in the middle , and it does not drain, there is also usually a problem with the drain hose or drain pump not draining.
Try first unplugging the machine for ten minutes, see if this reset the machine circuits and can clear the error.
If it does not restart, there is probably need for a timer contrtol replacement.

Have a hotpoint aquarius wml540 that is stopping on the rinse cycle, when it stops the rinse light is on and the red lock light is flashing, is this an error code?

WASHER WILL NOT RINSE:
If your washer doesn't go through the washer rinse cycle, the most likely cause is the water valve. What happens is the water valve will stop letting cold water into the washer; therefore, once the washer gets to rinse it will either stop or not do anything during the whole rinse cycle.
This is because when you selected your water temperature, you selected warm/cold or hot/cold. The hot water came in and you didn't notice any problems. When it got to rinse, the cold water the cold water won't come in. Therefore, the washer does nothing.
To check the water valve, first cut the water off and remove the hoses off the back of the washer. Then one at a time point the hoses inside the washer tub and turn the water back on. If you don't have good water pressure, turn the water back off and remove the strainer that should be in one end of the hose. Inspect the strainer to see if it is stopped up, clean it and reinstall it. Now repeat this test. If you have good water pressure now, reinstall hose and your problem is fixed.
If you still don't have good water pressure, the problem is in your house plumbing and you need to call a plumber. If you had good water pressure the first time you performed the test, the water valve is bad and needs replacing.
TIMER
If your washer doesn't go through the washer rinse cycle the timer may be the problem. Sometimes the timer gets stuck in the middle of the cycle or won't turn at all. If the washer runs, but the timer doesn't turn, the timer is bad and needs replacing.
Do you have anti-flood hoses leading to the machine. If you do there is probably a loose tube in the back causing a small leak. When the hoses detect that water is still flowing after a certain amount of time due to the leak it shuts down and causes the machine to turn off during the rinse/spin cycle

Hello there:
If your cycle does not complete or The cycle doesn't advance
When the cycle should advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem: It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer. It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. than check the cold water supply line and the filter

Power light and extra rinse rapidly flashing

Sounds like a cold water supply fault which could be the solinoid valve, the water turned off, a kinked or twisted cold supply pipe or a wiring fault. Check out the error code sequence here. You never said what make or model you have (the error codes are only for Hotpoint, Creda and Indesit machines)

Soon as i set cycle and swich on door light flashes open

hi,
The cycle doesn't advance
When the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:

It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer.

It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water.

Thanks for your question.

Timer clicks arround and arround

My Belling integrated washing machine will not stop at the end of the cycle. My partner had accidently moved the dial during mid-cycle. We have tried to reset the machine by turning it off and then moving the dial around to the stop section of the dial. However when we turn it back on it waits for a while and then continues to click around with starting any cycle. Can anyone help? Thanks.
