The 3 way (hi, med, low) has a stupid little plastic cam that wears out after about 200 turns. How do I know this I have the same model and turn it on at the beginning of the season and turn it off at the end of the season. 200 turns is being generous.

Any way the pastic cam breaks down(maybe under heat) then crumbles. I have been tryin to find a switch that perfoms the same function that I can gerry-rig into play, Pelonis doen's sell parts that I know of. but I am on a quest not to put this otherwise good heater in a landfill!

Bypass the 3 way (hi, med, low) switch, unfortunately it'll always be in the high position when you do this. I have done this with one of my heaters and as long as the thermostat is working properly then it will work as it should on the high setting. I took the extra step of connecting the LED light to the bypass so I know when its on.

Just remember to turn it off you'll need to unplug it.

Bypassing is a great idea! But which cables to connect? I have 2 black, 1 white and 1 red.

Pelonis does sell the low, med,hi switch but the problem may also be the thermistor just before the switch after the electric input that is what was wrong with mine, and I cant find the trermistor anywhere, going to just wire around for now.

Need KSD-301-V thermo switch for a Pelonis HO-O218 oil filled heater

Amazon has lots of these thermostats available from 3 to 5 dollars. This is the most common thermostatic switch failure for the Pelonis heater . Go to Amazon and type in KSD 301 in the search area. The temperature rating of the sensor is approximately 305 degrees
