Check to see if the Vacation switch is locked on your wall console. It is a switch on the top of the black wall button. If that is not the problem it sounds like you need to program your remotes. Drop down the plastic cover towards the back of the unit There is a learn button push that and a red LED will come start flashing press and hold the button on your remote until the LED stops flashing (solid red) press the button on your remote again and the light will go off. This will program a remote

Garage door opener not working

Sensor must show steady light to close circuit and let opener work. If aligned, then there is a loose or broken wire. Try reaiming first to get steady light. Then check all wires . Another way to test and prove that is the issue is if u hold down the wired button at ur back door and the opener closes, then it is sensor issue. Good luck.

Entry pad quit working on my Genie Excelerator model #H8000D. Changed batteries. Can this be reprogramed or should I purchase a new one?

The relay on the "unit's" circuit board was causing my light to stay on. If I tapped the unit with a stick the vibration would be enough for the contacts in the relay to open allowing the light in the unit to go out. Call The Genie company; the H8000D Genie garage door opener has a lifetime warranty but only if you are the original owner of your home. If you are the original owner you'll need to have a receipt for proof of purchase. If you don't have the receipt then a copy of your HUD-1 form that you received at closing when you passed papers on your home will be accepted as proof of (original ownership of your home). I have had my Genie H8000D for 12+ years now and so far I have replaced the black indoor wall switch, the out door mounted remote control and both internal circuit boards. After removing both old boards I found that the solder on both ends of one "blueish in color" resistor had come loose from the board because he solder failed. I installed the new replacement boards Genie sent me and the unit works as is should. On the old board the resister didn't look bad so I soldered it back onto the board and I'll keep it for a back up.

GT3-R -can

This is a dual frequency transmitter. (315/390) You need to select one button to program the TYPE 1 frequency of 390 MHz. Here's how:

Backwards compatable programming instructions for GT3-R dual-band remote: This is a 3 button remote, which can be used to operate up to 3 garage doors using IntelliCode radio controls. This remote is defaulted to operate the new IntelliCode 2 Genie garage door openers, but you can also program individual buttons to operate other IntelliCode 1 (pre 2011) models of Genie garage door openers made from 1998 to present. To change a button to operate a pre 2011 IntelliCode opener, the default IntelliCode 2 setting must be changed to IntelliCode 1. An LED light on the remote displays which mode the remote button is in: Red = IntelliCode 1 / Green = IntelliCode 2 To set one of the 3 buttons to be IntelliCode 1 (red), follow the instructions below:
  1. Select a button on the remote that has not been programmed.
  2. Press and hold that button for 10 seconds. Both Red and Green LEDs come on and stay on.
  3. Press the same button twice to toggle IntelliCode selection from IntelliCode 2 to IntelliCode 1.
  4. Press the same button again to confirm toggle. the LED should be Red. The IntelliCode selection for this button is set to IntelliCode 1.
You are now ready to program the remote to your garage door. Follow accompanying instructions for "Programming to IntelliCode 1 Genie garage door opener," or see below instructions: Programming Instructions: Gently press the Receiver Learn Code button on the power head receiver of your Genie garage door opener (motor head on ceiling in garage). This small, black, unmarked button is located behind the light lens at the motor head and is nearest the floppy 6 inch antenna wire that protrudes from the motor head. When pressed, a radio signal indicator light will start blinking red for 30 seconds. After pressing the Learn Code Button, press your transmitter button twice for your system to grab the frequency and code it in. (Keep the transmitter you're tuning at least 2 feet away from the power head while tuning.) Press the transmitter button once more to test the system and start your door moving.

Cant get the 2 light bulb on my genie excelerator lights up during opening and closing the garage door. what can be the problem???Please help me..

If both will not light then you will need to replace the logic board because it is very unlikely both of them have failed at the same time. If it is one, make sure the lead at the bottom of the socket is pulled far enough up to make contact with the bulb, you can replace the socket itself as well. Parts can be ordered at genie.com.

Programming the garage door opener

Homelink Garage Door Opener Programming Procedure:

The procedure described below was successfully applied to a 2005 Jaguar S-Type.

To begin with, several attempts were made using the programming instructions contained in my Jaguars owners manual. Though the procedure described in the owners manual was straight-forward and understandable, I was unsuccessful in getting the vehicles remote to make my garage door opener function. The particular garage door openers I have are both made by Genie. Both openers utilize the Rolling Code feature.

To begin with, be sure to clear previous codes on your Jaguars garage door opener by first turning (rotating) the ignition key to the I position (first notch). Next, simultaneously hold button 1 (left most button) and button 3 (right most button) down until the middle buttons red light changes from continuous on to a rapid flash. This process takes approximately 20-25 seconds. What follows is a two part process. In the first part, get your Genie portable remote and hold it near (approximately 3 inches away from) your Jaguars garage door opener console buttons. Choose which button on your Jaguars remote you wish to dedicate to your Genie door opener and simultaneously press and hold your Genie opener button and your Jaguars opener button. The red light on your Jaguars center button (button #2) will light up and within 1-2 seconds will begin to flash rapidly. You have just completed part 1 of the two part process.

Part two: Now it is time to utilize the Learn function on your Genie garage door opener. Press the Learn button on your Genie garage door opener. The red LED adjacent to the Learn button will begin to flash. You now have 30 seconds in which to program your Jaguars opener button. Using the same button you just used in the part 1 procedure, press and hold the same button for several seconds. As before, your Jaguars red light in the middle button will light up and within 1-2 seconds, it will flash rapidly. Release the button you are programming. Now, here is the key piece of information! Once again, press and hold that same button. Once again, the center buttons red light will flash rapidly. Release your newly programmed button. This procedure proved successful in my application. Here is what has just happened. The first time you pressed your Jaguars remote button tells the Genie opener that it exists and that it is a viable candidate for making your life easier (opening the damn door). The second time you press your Jaguars remote button confirms to the Genies rolling code that your Jaguars signal is legitimate and is to be trusted from then on.
