Want to program my dish network remote to operate the phillips/magnavox TVs volume and turning it on and off. The TV is a 1998

Hello!! It should be pretty easy to get this programmed. Below are instructions to program the remote along with codes. I hope this helps!

1. Hold down the clear TV button until all lights light up at the top of the remote
2. Punch in a 3 digit code (provided below)
3. Press the # (POUND) button
4. Try powering the tv on/off, and the volume. If one or more of these functions do not work, start over from step 1 with a different code.

566
770
550

or if that doesn't work, here are the steps for a power scan. The remote scans the TV for the correct code.

1. Hold down the Clear TV button until all lights at the top of the remote light up
2. Press the red TV POWER button
3. Press and release the up arrow on the remote about once a second until the tv turns off.
4. When it turns off, press the # (Pound) button
5. Try powering the tv on/off, and try the volume. If one or more of these functions do not work, start over at step 1 again.

I got a Magnavox tv model number 27ms343s from a friend, but it didnt have a remote. The tv is locked and wont turn on by the power button, how do i find a code to set it up with my dish network remote?

We would be happy to help you with getting your DISH Networkremote to control your TV. Pressand hold the TV button located on the top of your remote until all mode buttonback lights come on, then release. Use the number buttons to enter thecodes for your Magnavox television; here some of the codes we currently have: 560, 829, 566, 761, 891, 828, 656, and 770.Press the pound (#) button. To check that the code works try several differentfunctions on the remote to make sure it will properly operate the TV. Keep inmind that some codes may not be compatible with your equipment. If this is thecase, try the other codes listed for that device until you find one thatis compatible with your equipment.

We hope this help and thank you for being a valued DISH Network customer!

I have an universal Philips Magnavox remote don't know the model # but I just need to know how to search for the codes. I can't remember how.

These are generic code search instructions for Phillips/Magnavox
Programing with Code Search

1. Manually turn on (TV,VCR,etc.) to be controlled.
2. Press and hold Code Search button until red indicator stays on.
Release the Code Search button.
3. Press and release the desired mode button (TV, VCR, etc.).
The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.
4. Press the Channel Up button repeatedly ( up to 300 times )
until the device to be controlled changes channel.
The red indicator blinks, then stays lit. If you accidentally
overshoot the code required, press the Channel Down button to
backtrack through the library until the device changes channel.
Pressing Channel Up changes direction to forward again.
Press and release the Mute button to install the code.
If the device you are installing does not have a Channel Up button
use Play(VCR only) or Power, on all other devices.

HI MY FRIEND sreeki.

Try this site:
http://www.remotecodelist.com/remotes/magnavox/Philips-Magnavox_PM525S.pdf
It's the manual for a Phillips remote control. The codes should be rather universal. Otherwise, there is a way to program it without using a code.

Programming with Code Search

1. Manually turn on the device (TV, VCR, etc.) to be controlled.

2. Press and hold Code Search button until the red indicator stays on. Release the Code Search button.

3. Press and release the desired mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blink, then stays lit.

4. Press the Channel Up button repeatedly (up to 300 times) until the device could be controlled changes channel. The red indicator blinks, then stays lit. If you accidentally overshoot the code required, press the Channel Down button to backtrack through the library until the device changes channel. Pressing Channel Up changes direction to forward again. Press and release the Mute button to install the code.

Hope this helps :)
