Sounds like there might be a damaged component, power supply maybe that may explain why the light flashes on and off and it wont start up.

I put it on vcr and put a vhs in it, it comes plays for about 5 seconds then it stops says error 1 and it completley shuts my player off, How would u fix this?

plenty of problems possible. I would pick the machine up and shake it, see if something rattles inside, if so see if you can get it to come out of the door, if not the cover will have to come off. if you are lucky it will be something a kid stuck in there or a part from a cassette, if not the machine is broken and would need to go to tech or goodwill. if it doesn't rattle you will have to take the cover off and you can watch the tape as it starts and will be able to see directly what is happening to make the tape stop. vcrs will stop and shut off if the tape is getting stuck or if something is broken.

Vhs is stuck in machine. Won't play and won't eject.

There are any number of reasons why it won't play. The loading basket is jammed, the video tape has got tangled up in the mechanical section of the vcr or the loading gears are stripped. Unplug machine and remove top, [screws side and back] if the tape is spewed carefully remove by cutting it and clean tape particles, for any other problem have a technician check it out.

I have a ION VCR2PC and the power button won't stop blinking. Also when I put a VHS tape in, it turns itself on and then right off again and ejects my tape. There is not anything stuck in the ION...

If the take up spool is not turning properly it is not uncommon for the machine to eject the tape and turn off. Check the drive to that spool and correct.

When we turn the power on iit only stays on a few seconds then turns off with the light flashing.. what does this mean and what can we do to fix it?? tks

I had the same problem. We watched a DVD, and the unit worked fine. We went out for ice cream, came back, and decided to watch a VHS. Instead of taking the VHS, the CST.IN light flashed and the unit cut off after a few seconds. We didn't have a VHS in the unit at the time. After cutting the unit back on several times without success, I looked online for solutions. One person said to hit 'eject' 5 times in a row, but that didn't work for my unit. Someone else said there was a lever inside near the power button that ejected the VHS, so I checked that out next. I washed and dryed my hands well, and used my finger to jiggle the white lever. Then I saw that the tray that the VHS sits on wasn't all the way forward, so I gently pulled and pushed it. I'm not sure which of the two actions worked, but my light is now a steady green and my unit is working fine now. I am so glad because we've had this unit for almost 10 years now, and I really didn't want to have to buy a new one! Good luck!

I have a Mitsubishi HS-M58V(B) VHS recorder with a tape stuck inside. I'm not fused about the tape but would like some advise on removing it as the kids still have many tapes they watch from time to...

Many of the older Mitsubishi machines suffered from the nylon tracks which are set into the metal becoming brittle and cracking with age there is not a lot that can be done with this problem and you may as well buy a new machine.another cause can be the mode switch becoming dirty and needs cleaning this is a rotary multi contact switch located under the mechanical deck.Hope this may be of help but the outcome is not good in any way.

Power button failure

  • Power Light Shuts Off
If the power shuts off during game play (even as much as 30 minutes after the system is turned on), then turns off and won't turn back on or the fan isn't working, the system needs repair.
  • Power Light Flashes
If the power light flashes once when power button is pressed, then turns off and won't turn back on, the system needs repair

How can I remove a stuck video tape from out of a VCR?

You will have to take the cover off. ( un-plug the AC cord)
Look for the loading motor at the back right side.
Rotate the motor and you will see the tray moving thru its cycle to un-load the tape, it does take quite a few turns, its slow.
Let me know if you run into a problem?
