I want to know if I can use a Walking foot on it? I have a walking foot for a singer machine.

I have a 150e which has a snap on foot. Viking does make a walking foot for it, where you unscrew the ankle that holds the snap on feet and screw on the walking foot, just like on your singer. What I haven't found out yet, is if the viking shank on this machine is a standard low shank or not.

Also, you haven't told us what type of Singer you have. They make machines with 2 different shanks, the standard low shank which many machines have, and the slant shank, which ONLY SINGER has. Why not just unscrew that ankle on your viking and put the singer walking foot on it without a needle. It should be pretty easy to tell if things line up right or not. It probably won't, Viking is pretty darned picky. I just can''t get around how little trouble I have with it and how it will sew through almost anything without any problems, jamming or whatever. It just keeps on sewing. My ex bought it for me new in 1989 and it is just a fantastic machine.

Does a model 188u have a walking foot?

That's an industrial machine. I did a search on eBay for Singer 188, and DID come up with a welting foot and walking foot combination for the 16-188cl, both for $18.95. I would write to the people offering it for sale, and ask; there is a place to send a question in every listing towards the bottom.

No that is not a walking foot machine. There are no industrial walking feet that will last.

Pfaff varimatic 6091 What type of walking foot can i purchase for this model and are they very expensive ?

You could probably get away with a generic walking foot. They are available in the fabric store for a little under $20. Once you use one, you will wonder how you got by without it before!! I've attached a sample of a product that would work for you. Just be sure to NOT get the "slant" walking foot. That is for the Singer machine, and they have a different setup. Enjoy!!

How to attach a quilt guide

You have to unscrew the screw for the presser foot first. The walking foot will then fit. Use the same screw to attach the walking foot. Before you insert the screw, take the white handle on the walking foot and slide it on the screw arm for the needle. Now tighten the screw.
