Nice little mp3 player. Had one myself, it was neat. Recommend using a rechargeable battery with it, it'll save you $$ in the long run. But don't remember any special software for it. You just connect it to your computer via a mini-USB cable, and it automatically shows up as a hard drive. Then you just cut and paste or copy files directly onto the player. The exception is if you have Windows 98. Windows 98 requires a driver that you can download from here:

Also HIGHLY recommend that you thoroughly read the following forum webpage concerning your player. It should help provide additional info that you'll need concerning your player:

https://www.customernation.com/pls/ps/ps.ps_main?p_host=304&p_supplier=5096&p_parm=PSHPP

And the following forum is also highly recommended concerning your player:

SOURCE: MP3 Sansa Sandisk 1 GB

If it won't charge, then:
1) USB connector is damaged
2) USB port is damaged (Have you tried other port and/or other computer ?)
3) MP3 Battery is damaged

Software media converter does not recognize sansa c250 mp3

the best solution is to download a program called "media monkey" its a free media player that rips cds, syncs with most mp3/mp4 players, and has some other good features too. just google it, i use it instead of windows media players, most excellent.

Unable to transfer playlist to sansa c250 mp3 player

This player isn't capable of playlist transfer - you can only create a playlist on the go from the player itself. You will have to transfer individual songs only.

Sansa c200 series – Computer/OS Not Recognizing
Connect the device to the PC in MSC Mode
View/c200: Turn on then press and hold the rewind button while plugging to the PC
If that fails, unplug the Sansa from the computer. Uninstall all the Sansa software in the add/remove programs section of Control Panel. Reinstall the clean version of the software from Sandisk’s website – make sure you get the files for the c200 series. Then replug the Sansa and try again. The root of the problem is that Sansa has one set of drivers and Windows has another. If you plug the mp3 player into the computer before installing the Sansa drivers, the Windows drivers will trump the Sansa’s.

"formatting problem"

I had a similar problem, I could upload songs, but they wouldn't play and I couldn't delete them. turned out it was cause I didn't have WMP10 installed on my PC, had an older version. the user manual states it only works with WMP10, and after I installed it (just search for windows media player 10 on the microsoft website) I was able to use the synch function in WMP10 and all the songs are playable (I'm listening to an album as I type :D)
