What does "Refreshing Database" mean

The night before this problem occured, I had accidentally fallen asleep with my sansa on. The battery was pretty low since the auto shut off didnt kick in for a while. When I tried to charge it, "Refreshing Database" came up in a green download-like bar. 3/4 of the way down, the sansa blacks out, even though it looks like it's still on becasue the blue ring is glowing. How do I fix this?

"Refresh Database" never ends!

If you try to load too many songs onto the player initially, it may take up to an hour to get past Refresh database. Unfortunately, if you shut the player off while it is refreshing, it will more than likely ruin your player. Run the Sansa Recovery Tool or Update the Firmware on your Player as a workaround. Make sure the hold/lock switch isn't activated, just as a safeguard.

How do you refresh database?

This just means that the player is refreshing the songs on the list, it does not mean that you have to do anything.
