Hi, on the homepage on the PS3 my disk wasn't reading so i took it out to clean it when i noticed a thin crack from the center of the disk going up half way and stopping. So i bought a new disk and i was playing it one night and the next morning it wasn't reading, so i looked at it and i saw the same crack in the center of the disk going up half way and stopping. I really look after my CDs so I know this wasn't a careless mistake. I was just hoping someone would have a reason to why this keeps happening. Thanks

Check another disc to see if it reads it. If it's still experiencing problems, then the laser inside of your device needs cleaning. If the other disc is working, then you're either using a disc that the device doesn't recognize, or the disc has some sort of deep scratch or crack preventing it from working.
I can't provide more detailed information without knowing if this is a PS3, a 360, or a WII. Regardless, if it is the laser inside that needs cleaning and you open up the console, you will void the manufacturer's warranty.
It sounds like the disc is broken. Blu-ray disks are scratch resistant, but if they have even the tiniest of cracks or dings, the disc is often unplayable. It is usually characterized by the weird sounds you're hearing when you try to load the game.
Take the disc into bright light and check the underside very carefully, looking for any sign of a hairline crack. Even if you can't find a crack, my suggestion is to return it for a different disc, as it seems probable that the game is broken.
If your PS3 is able to play video games and other blu-ray movies, it is likely that there is something wrong with the Crazy Heart DVD itself. I would suggest looking on it carefully to see if there are any visible scratches or cracks.
you would have to crack open the shell, but first try to use a butter knive this has happend to me before and you just have to guild the disc out a little bit Don't use games with the foil sticker in the center that you rent, they mess the track up
I have had this problem, as my PS3 is now out of
warrenty i have decided to fix it myself, so if your PS3 is out of
warrenty aswel i sugguest you do the following, if not then send it
back to sony.
The problem seems to be a over heating, you will notice this as the fan kicks in to high power after about 10mins.
you need to do is disassemble it, heres a guide that can help you:
this you will see the CPU and GPU, the problem there is the thermal
compound on it, its dry and cracked and not enough, u need to clean all
this off and buy some Artic Silver 5 Compound, on ebay for under £5,
you then need to place some on the CPU and GPU corner to corner then
smooth it across with a card, as thin as you can! then put it all back
