On the under side of the laptop, There should be a cover with a screw and maybe a "m" next to it. Open this up and you should see the memory and an empty slot to put the upgrade in. It is keyed and the memory will go in one way. Hold the memory on an angle as you put it in the slot, the down so that the clips will lock the memory in place. Restart the laptop, and it will see your memory. If it comes up and you get a message that the memory has changes, press F1 to continue.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

Got an AsRock P4i65G mobo and bought 2 gig RAM for it. However, I have bought ECC memory by mistake instead of Non-ECC. PC wont boot with the new RAM. Is there any way I can get this to work such as with...

Hi, you can download a manual here:

http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?model=p4i65g

Your mainboard DOES NOT SUPPORT ECC RAM.
This ram type is ONLY intended for servers
or mainboards that are compatible for that ram type.

This is what your mainboard supports:

Dual Channel DDR memory technology
- 2 x DDR DIMM slots
- Supports DDR400/333/266 non-ECC, un-buffered memory
- Max. capacity of system memory: 2GB

Use only the asrock site when upgrading the bios.
And a bios upgrade does not supports the ecc ram anyway.

Hope this will help you.

Have an EVGA nForce 680i. Bought 2x 2 GB 6400 800Mhz of ram to replace 2x 1 GB sticks. However when I start up the system it only reads that I have 2874 MB of RAM. So I figured maybe one of the sticks is...

Hi.

The reason its only seeing just under 3GB of memory is no doubt because you are using a 32BIT operating system (probably XP).
If you were to install Win 7 (X32) or a 64BIT operating system the computer would see all 4GB of RAM you have installed.

Its nothing to worry about though as the computer will work just fine. If you were to check in the BIOS you would see all 4GB of memory is there and see by the BIOS.

Regards.

Hi! I recently bought a MSI MS-6741 Motherboard and set it up with a AMD Sempron 3100+(754) and 1GB of DDR400 RAM (Kingston KVR ,CAS 3.0) and Installed Vista Ultimate on the 120GB P-ATA IDE drive attached...

The board does support up to 2GB DDR400 RAM (for more info on the board try here).

You might also find MSI's support site helpful (here is link to your specific board that has up to date BIOS and drivers).

As for why your system only sees 512MB of RAM, I am not entirely sure, you could try running 'dxdiag' (just type dxdiag into the 'run' utility), which should give you a more accurate reading of how much RAM you have available. Otherwise, certainly try the BIOS update. If you are still seeing only 512MB afterwards, I would certainly be questioning the reliability the board (if the RAM has tested fine on other systems).

Ram and Bios issue

Make sure your other stick of Ram is installed properly, once that is done make sure that the stick of ram is compatible with that computer. After that even, check to see if your computer is capable of processing that amount of RAM.

Windows won't see all of my 4GB of RAM but BIOS does! Why?

Windows xp will usually only see 3.5 gbs of ram even in your motherboard can support more. WIndowns vista does recognize more RAM or i also believe windows xp 64bit recognizes more ram. Nothing wrong with ram or your computer its just your operating system.
