Question about Washing Machines

How do I access the pump on my washer

How do we get the front access panel off of this machine to check the pump for items clogging it? Our pump is not pumping out water, but sounds like it is trying to. We need to check the pump, but can't seem to get the front panel to come off.

Since you failed to tell us the brand and model of your washer, it's pretty hard to help. If it's a top-loader, the back panel is the access point and the front and sides are normally assembled as a unit and dropped over the innards. It shouldn't be necessary to remove the front at all.

SOURCE: Fixing a clogged pump on GE Profile washer

waht u need to do is get a bucket now take the outlet hose and place it into it low to the ground if water comes out then it will be that your pump is faulty and needs replacing but if it doesnt the only way to do it is towels on the floor and with a low pan place this under the sump hose which should be in the middle of your drum which then leads to the pump pull slowly but not enough for the water to push the hose of do this until empty the only other way is to take it outside and pull the outlet hose of this is the quicker and dryiest out of them all but do do the first part to c if the pump is faulty m8

My HE2 washer will not continue on to the drain and spin cycle.

Hi

This issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. First make sure that the drain is not clogged and remove clogs if present. If no visible lint is present then remove the lower front access panel to check the drain filter and drain pump for any clogs, you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump completely. Hope this helps... Please post back for any further assistance.

MACHINE NOT SPINNING OR DRAINING

You most likely have a clogged or faulty drain pump. To access this: 1. Remove the bottom access panel. 2. Remove the front of the pump filter. Keep in mind that when you do this all the water in the machine is going to come out. 3. If the filter of the pump isn't clogged then you likely need to replace the pump assembly.

Wont pump the water out

You will need to tip the machine on it's side and access bottom and rear panels. Then check the pump and drain screen and drain for clogs and loose parts.

How to unclog drain hose/pump? my front loader

First of start by checking the rubber gasket seals around the door and making sure those are good and clean and dry. Then inspect the barrel itself. My daughter loves to leave scraps of paper in her pockets that then get stuck in my front loader. Clear any debris from the barrel. Does your machine have a small front access panel or back access to get to the filter? Most front loaders have some sort of filter on them apart from the barrel. If you can find this part, it is a common culprit. Mine is a tube shaped basket with a front access panel on this one. On the front loader before this one is was back panel accessable under the drum. when you check these have a bucket and some thing mop up with handy, towels, mop, etc. One other thing to consider is the drain hose from the machine. I have flushed mine using a garden hose in the yard and used a little bleach.

My maytag washer won't drain

Take off the front panel (Use a putty knife to press in the tabs near each upper corner where the top lid meets the front panel).
Check the wiring (esp. the ground) on the pump - it may be corroded or loose.
Tip the machine back to access the underside & check the motor-driven belt that drives the drum & the discharge pump - it may have broken or come off.
Check the discharge pump for blockage.

Washing machine will not drain

Hi
The drain line is probably clogged. Maybe that a sock or other piece of clothing get between the clothes tub and the outer tub that holds the water. In this case it may then get into the drain hose that's attached to the pump.Remove the hoses from the pump and pull the item out. In case it clean there, check the outer tub port- open the washer's main access panel and remove the large-diameter rubber hose that connects the pump to the bottom of the outer tub. Then, try to remove the clothing through the port.

Sounds like the pump is clogged or not working. Check the pump on the bottom of the machine. You can see the pump by removing the back panel for access. If you have missing socks or other small items check for a blockage in the pump.
If you set the dryer to spin you should hear the pump groaning if it is blocked.

Washer won't drain or spin, get F2 error

Hello hernandez160,

The "F2" error is referring to excessive drain time. Unplug machine before working on it. Remove screws on bottom of lower panel and remove panel. The drain pump is behind the panel, It has a large round door on it, turn counter clock wise by hand to access pump clean out. Have lots of towels ready. Remove anything from pump (usually kids socks or small clothing articles). If nothing in pump clean out remove suction boot from drain pump and check there. If nothing there blow through the drain hose from the pump side to check if anything is stuck in the hose. If that's clear check the electrical connection on the pump, make sure nothing is loose or broken at the connection. If all this checks out good and it still wont work you probably have a bad pump and it will need to be replaced. If you do find something was blocked or clogged due to small clothing articles I would recommend a garment/lingerie bag to keep all the small stuff together during the wash cycle. Hope this helps to fix your problem. Please remember to rate this and every solution you get.
Thanks,

Frigidaire front load from may of 06 Code E20 Model GLTF 2940ES3

not famil with you model. Most are either pull off or two screws on the lower front kick panel once removed there should be a cap unlock or unscrew to left...counter-clockwise. Some of the latest are only accessible from underneath.First thing to do....bring it out and lean back against wall.. see if pump is attached to front panel to see which way to access it. this will also stop water flow from drum.

Fixing a clogged pump on GE Profile washer

Take a putty knife and slide it in between the front panel and top to pop the clips that hold on the top. Remove the front panel and you will see the pump down in the front corner. Remove the hoses (watch for water) and you should see any clog. Check hoses and drain line (home) to be sure there is no clog in those while you have it apart. Be sure to unplug your machine before working on it as well. Good Luck!!! Jim
