The setting, at least on the cameras that I have owned, is usually the flower icon. On some models when your in this mode it will turn the w/t bar green when it is in close up mode and at the proper distance. Double check with your user guide.

You need the "Macro" setting, which is identified by an icon of a little flower. I don't know if your camera has a Macro setting, or where it might be located, but if you can find a little flower on a button or switch, that will be the one. Autofocus will continue to operate, but the range will be restricted to extreme close-up, so don't forget to turn it off after.

The glass is broken and there is no picture.

You can find your LCD screen from ebay.com.
They sell it for $47,99 + $4,99 (for shipping)
This price is not economic for me. But I do not know what you think.
I offer you to sell this camera on ebay.com and buy a new one.

You can see the price:
1. Open ebay.com
2. Write 320368311504 to search box.
3. Enter to see the product.

I'm trying to take pictures of rare coins for sale on ebay. Help!!!

If your camera has the capability you will want to take pictures using the macro function on your camera. It has an icon that looks like a flower. It lets you take closeup pictures, which would be helpful for the coins. You will want to place the coins on a plain background with plenty of light shining on the coins from above and also another light from the side. Multiple lights will give your pictures some more depth to the coins. Make sure that the angle that you are taking your pictures doesnt have any glare. Hope that helps!

My Evolt E-300 won't take a picture. Seems find until you go to take the pic and then the shutter opens and closes multiple times without any picture.

Try to set all menu items to default as much as you can. Some cameras have a reset to default setting or a button to reset to default.
After setting to default, try the camera again.
If all fails, this camera will need repairs.
If it is too old, and not worth it, it may be the best to sell for parts on a site such as Ebay.

I wanted to take close up pictures so I could sell items on ebay what would be the best settings and any other tips

Get out your owners manual and look for the closeup section. If you don't have a closeup setting, you can always shoot from further back and then crop the pictures. I'm sure you received a picture modification program on a CD with your camera. If you did not there are lots of free photo software on the web. Look for Picasa, Infanview, Photo studio 5, and others.

I want to take a close-up picture of a coin to show details, I want to sell on ebay. What settings etc.?

You didn't specify the type of camera.

With a point&shoot like a Coolpix, use the Macro or Close-up mode.

With a DSLR, use a macro lens.

Either way, you'll have to be careful lighting the subject

Cannot get clear close-ups

Recommend not using flash. The first thing is that your subject should be well lit. Try placing it on a lighter background with good lighting around it. Also recommend using a tripod to keep the camera steady, and setting and using the camera's timer to take the photo (this also helps keep the camera steady). The closest auto-focused macro shot that the S200 takes is around 1 foot from the subject. Depress the shutter button halfway to verify that the subject is in focus (one of the three squares on the LCD should turn green on the subject). Next depress the shutter button all the way to take the photo.
