Polaroid FLM-373B Television Problem: When I turn the t.v. on the red light goes from red to blue but the picture does not come on. To get the pic to come on I must unplug the power cord and replug then turn the t.v. on again. That's how it started. Next while still needing to use that same procedure to get a picture the picture became distorted in a small band across the screen. After that the picture got worse in stages until now it will not come on at all. Help.

The one color problem could be either your color wheel or your DMD board. The DMD board controls the colorwheel RPM in order to create the vibrant exact colors that you see. You also need to make sure the fuse is OK

You will require a technician for the same.

Thanks.

This is not my solution, but, some insight into your problem provided by an electrical engineer, maybe it will help you.

Out Sourced Answer:
I noticed that you asked this question previously and should already have the service manual. And that the manual was not able to help you resolve your problem. These Polaroid TVs don't have very good service information for us technicians. And we tend to avoid that brand whenever possible.
I know this won't help you solve your problem, but I wanted to explain why your having so much difficultly getting an answer. I don't think you're going to get any better help than what that service manual gives.

The TV is going in protect mode because it detects an internal problem, try leaving it unplugged for a longer time, let say one hour or two.

Basically, what happens is that the TV does not start because it detects that there is an internal problem, such as a wrong voltage, a bad component, overheating etc.
When you unplug power and restart it, you reset the internal circuit, and the TV will restart, not detecting the internal problem.
As soon as the TV gets hot, after staying on for a while, the defective part start giving troubles, as the defective component (probably an IC, starts overheating).

As already pointed by the other expert, from description, the digital processing board. can be cause for the problem, as you told us picture shrinks to a small band and you lose convergence after TV stays on for a while.

However all the following parts can be involved.

    Parts involved can be

    Polaroid digital processing board.
    Polaroid replacement ballast.
    Polaroid Replacement LCD controller

JVC HD-56FN97 when turned on blue light is solid, red ligt blinks a few times and goes out. My picture is very dark despite adjustments I make in the menu, any help or feed back apreciated.

The set does use a lamp for a light source and average life is 2 years or 2000 hours---many lamps before they actually fail get to be darker.

This is blue CRT problem in tv as it is rear projection tv that has three CRTs red-green-blue inside to project color picture on front screen.
Blue CRT (tube) will be replaced to fix the issue and it is job of Pro because lots of adjustments are required after replacement of tube.
Local tv repair shop will help you for that.
Thanks

This is a Polaroid brand.
The failure on these TV sets is originating from the power supply assembly not providing a clean DC voltage to the main board.
The power supply will need to be repair since there aren't service parts available.
I could fix the power supply for you.

Same problem here. Polaroid Tech Support says that it is the control box.

It is a little over a year old so it is out of warranty with Polaroid.

Except, I bought the two year plan when I bought it at Walmart. So I called them and they are sending me a box and a shipping label to mail it back for repair. I tried to tell tham that is a little big to mail but they insist. This should be fun.

No Picture

Did you have color problems in past? Most of these sets have convergence problems. Amps goes out. But you should have seen some type of distortion from color, red, blue, green. If no color problems then maybe vertical ouput out or horizontal output bad.
