Try to clean the magnetic door switch, some windex and a paper towell.Just do the part on the door or lid and where the lid meets the top of the magnet.Make sure this is not loose and is seated in the machine.
You may need to unplug machine and remove the door switch, take both wires and tie them togther so they make contact. Then try a wash cycle or try the spin cycle.
The door switches in the estate washers fall apart and get corroded and can stop the spin cycle.
If the machine works with the switch taken out then you will need to get a new one from whirlpool.
Hi, I have to ask a couple of questions to pin point this for you. Does the washer agitate?
When the washer is in the spin cycle, Does the motor run at all? The most common problem with the spin cycle is either the lid switch or the coupler. This is why I am asking the questions.
Please let me know so I can assist you.
Things wear out! So is life! Sounds like the coupling conecting the transmisiion to the agitater is worn out! If I were there hands on I could be definite.
Only a hands on laundry tech can make thediagnoses.
How old is the washer?
If the appliance is 10 years old or more you it may not be advisable to put good money into bad! New appliances are so much more efficient today that they can save you a lot of money in energy!
