-   i bought the g1 off the internet and i guess it was broken. Somtimes it turns on and goes through the whole android thing and other times it just stays black an one time it kept vibrating until i took the battery out. Before all this i went to get a data plan and it wouldn't turn on and the t-mobile guy put his battery in and it still wouldn't go. and they said they couldn't do anything without the recipt. Is there a place that will fix this or does anyone know whats wrong with it? -   madrid7040

-   Actually, this information is incorrect. If you did not purchase the insurance policy on the G1 phone, T-mobile cannot repair or replace it. HTC will repair the LCD screen for $238. But after 4 months you are eligible to purchase another G1 for $229. -   kesellmans

Well first of, there is your warranty, but if your phone breaks after expirations, there is both an T-Mobile G1 Repair Guide and a third party T-Mobile G1 Repair Service, so there is no need to worry.
The phone will come with Both T-Mobile and HTC warranty. enabling you to take your phone to your local T-mobile shop (where you purchased the phone with a valid receipt) and they should repair it for you. HTC Phones on the other hand are quite sturdy and reliable phones, i believe mollE must just have one of the bad few !
Buying a new one would be very expensive. Go Visit HTC Repair Center located in Dallas Tx if you are local. If you are outside Dallas you can Mail-in your Phone to them.
For more information on HTC G1 Repair visit www.drcellphone.com. They are the best Cell Phone Repair Service Center in the Nation.

Same issue...taking gloves off in the cold weather (it's a touch screen that doesn't work with gloves on), dropped the phone from less than 3 feet (I'm 5'2") and the screen broke. How do I get this < 3 week old phone replaced/fixed without having to pony-up another $400-$500?
