Martha, Try running another cycle, for some reason I think machine is sensing it still has water in it. If after running another cycle dose'nt do it, check links below to see (2nd link) how to open door manually with out damaging machine. press the helpful button
If the machine didnt finish the cycle due to the pump being clogged the door will remained locked also if the lock mechanism went bad, the machine will stay locked. Remove the top of the machine by taking the screws from the top back out. Once removed look down the right hand side and you'll see the lock mechanism, usually with a plastic tab you pull to manually release the lock.
Hi, My guess is that you have an uneven load in machine. When it's time for the spin cycle to run, it will not complete that spin. You will have to open the door and rearrange the load so that it will spin.( machine will not run when door is open). good luck.
Sounds like the door lock switch has failed, normally they go bang when fail, they start the machines cycle so are important, when door is shut it should click, this engages a timer which keeps door locked switch is live at mains potential, cant be tested have to be replaced about 12 pounds cost, best for a tech unless you feel competent
I have just had exactly the same problem. 10 seconds of washing, fuse blew, replaced it, cycle completed but now the door lock is stuck on. Like you I tried a new cycle but this has done nothing. In the end (and I'm not suggesting that this a remedy to the problem) I unplugged the machine - pulled the door handle til a gap appeared at the top of the door and forced it open by working a pair of scissors in to the gap and pulling. Of course as soon as I shut the door again and turned on the power the lock light came straight back on the and the door was locked tight. Sorry but this is the best I have come up with short of calling some one out.
