Question about Hotpoint First Edition WMA20 Front Load Washer
I have started having problems with two cycles on my machine. When using the silks programme and the quick wash cycle the machine pauses when on the rinse and the lights on the front of the machine start to flash, this doesnt happen on every use but it is becoming more frequent, usually pressing the start button remedies this, but the last time this happened the machine just kept pausing and the lights kept flashing, so I had to choose a rinse cycle to complete the programme. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

SOURCE: stuck in wash cycle
check if heating by putting on as hot wash and feeling the door. if no heat, check continuity thro the heater - modern heaters have a non-resettable cut-out in them which can cause problems. no heat then no program advance

this sounds like cold water supply not getting to the machine, test the supply from the house is working, is the machine buzzing slightly when it should be filling, if so the fault is the house supply to the washer, if the supply to the washer is fine, check the cold water solenoid for open circuit, thats about all it could be, if it worked fine before, if i have helped rate me please

Suggestion: Plug off the wall first. Possible your outlet filter is blocked. This requires cleaning depending on your usage. Clean this out and refit. Check out user's manual. Good luck. Also check if your inlet into the machine is not clogged.

whare the option buttons are if you number them 1 to 5 from top to bottom if led 2 and 4 are flaching this is a time out draining and you will need to check your waste hose for twists traps and kinks also check Filter if there is a user servicable one on the applionce and check plumbing. This is a comman fault and if you get hotpoint out to it even if it is only a day old they will charge for the call out as it is classed as user error or faulty instalation this works on all WF,WD & WT modles with 5 option buttons on the left habnd side the applionces with digital displays will show F-05 insted but it all means the same

SOURCE: Door Lock LED flashing
The solution from testy helped me but I decided to change it.
I cut the plastic latch away from the end of the interlock, just the little bar that holds the door closed. This means that the lock position doesn't affect the door.
I then used the little piece of plastic to act as 2 packing pieces to hold the lock half closed. This works fine.
Don't push the lock fully closed or it doesn't work
