REDNESS 3D HOW CAN I ACCESS THE SERVICE MENU. IVE TRIED THE MUTE 182 BUT NOT SURE IF IM DOING SOMETHING WRONG, CANT GET ANYTHING UP

Try this:

• Turn the TV off.
• Press and hold the {VOL -} button ON THE TV and
  the {TV/VIDEO} button on the remote for at least 5 seconds.
• The TV will turn on with the Service Menu displayed.

Here's how to access the SM:

• While the TV is in standby:
• Press the {DISPLAY}, {5}, {VOL+} & {POWER} buttons.

Is this connected to cable, sat or dsl box. If so your issue is with this external box not the tv. If the tuner in the set is used the do auto scan in setup menu.

Manufacturers normally have a backdoor, a four digit password to gain access into their operating software when the user changes the password settings.

Optoma people told me their default PASSWORD is usually 2468 or 8642. One of the two will work to unlock access to full menu options.

You might have it in the wrong picture size (zoom 1 or 2). Menu, picture, size ...

If this is not the case, you can go to the service menu and reduce the size of the viewing image.
Turn off TV, press mute then 182, Turn on TV and this menu appears.

try 182 then mute and see if that doesnt get you there
im at home i can ck tomorrow at shop but i think thats correct

Sounds like you soldered two of the convergence pins together by accident. If its shorted the TV will shut down.

To reset the TV first try unplugging for 2-3 minutes from wall. If that does not work try going into the service menu. Turn TV off, on remote push mute 182 power. You should see srv menu open options by flowing OSD directions. Make sure to note previous settings before making any adjustments. BE CAREFUL!!

Phil.. to reset: Info>Menu>Mute>Power Button make sure tv is off to start with! messing around in here could void your warranty..it resets the tv to manufactures settings. if you just want to reset freeview.. 0 0 0 0 then press the colour buttons in sequence.. im having a much bigger problem..i think my freeview has blown on my LE46m87bdx..its only 1 month old..i turned it on and it went crazy..then no more channels..no signal..and i get a max bit error with 0 signal strengh..add to this with the fact that the screen goes crazy and resets on the DTV mode..ive got a service person coming round on the weekend! if it is blown..then ill have to do without freeview on the tv...im not letting him take away the tv...no no no no no!

i tell people all the time if you get into the service menu and hit the wrong buttons i wont know what you did to it again if you post here to ask how to get into the service mode you dont have the desire to find the codes on the internet which are readily available as are service manuals turn on the tv push mute on the remote till mute goes out hold down mute button and push menu on front of tv hit menu again when the s comes up hit 7 on remote and watch out you just figured how to reconverge your tv maybe not
