Question about HP Pavilion zd8000 Notebook
I have a HP ZD 8000 laptop. All I noticed the first thin line about 9 months ago. It was day by day increasing. At some point I had contacted HP distributor for Bangladseh. They wanted taka 40000/-(1 USD = 68.4 taka) about 585$. I had refused to repair my display. But now all over the display there are more than hundred of lines. Suddenly one day 2''-3'' area of the display became black like dead pixel.
What is the solution now?
Can I replace my display?
What should be the maximum cost?
Is this like cancer cell because after first line I have used it very often to keep my laptop trouble free but did not work out my play.
Before you invest any further, try the lcd inverter http://www.laptoprepair101.com/laptop/2007/01/31/replace-screen-inverter-fix-backlight/ I have seen them for real cheap. If you take off your bezel cover underneath the display you'll find the inverter or if necessary you can get a tech to help install. Usually theres a series of beeps when you get a blank screen. Hp pavilion laptops also get hot on the keyboard after a while from long term use and zd 8000 came out about 4 years ago so the display should be a pretty good looking glossy screen. Those are nice laptops to work with by the way.

You have to replace the display panel, for this you can order the panel from the HP itself, it will be much cheaper, and for replacing consult a technician, it won't cost more,
or you can attach a external monitor through the vga port and can do your work.
