Check the couplings at either end of the cable. Sometimes these will loosen and can cause a lack of signal strength.
but its probably not the cable, its probably the ps3. HDMI cables don't really break because they are just wires, they don't have moving parts. Try connecting your PS3 to your TV with the regular cable red, white, and yellow connectors that you got when you bough the PS3. If the PS3 doesn't work with the original red, white, and yellow connectors then you know its the PS3.
