HIFONIC 1500D WATTS (2)2OHM L7s WAS TOLD CAN ONLY WIRE TO 350 WATTS EACH SPEAKER BEST BUY SAYS I NEED A NEW 1500 WATT KICKER AMP TO GET FULL POWER 1500 WATTS OR (2) 4 OHM L7S TO GET FULL 1 OHM 1500 WATTS

Look, if the amp is 1500watts mono, then you have the capability to run a sub up to the full 1500watts, but i see on the specs for this amp that it has output for 2 speakers, which means up to 750watts each speaker. That's more than enough to power your L7's. They're trying to sell you something you don't really need in my opinion. Hope this helps.

I have 2 kicker l7 wanting to wire to best olm with hifonics 1200 mono

the best way to wire it is @ 1 ohm, but your amp has to be a 1 ohm stable amp. i'll attach some pics for you. this wiring depends on what ohm your subs are.

I have 2 l7 kicker with a 2000 watt amp not really a good brand though..sometimes the subs work perfekt but sometimes they dnt work as the way they suppose to sound they sound really weak n when im driving...

OK-3 issues here but you already know one lol-you bought a substandard amp for some bad *** power hungry subs---thats your first issue :)

Check the ground for the AMP it shouldn't be any longer than 12" from the amp to its grounding point-Any longer than that and several issues can happen, like poor power to the amp, feedback (winding noise over the speakers, usually changes pitch or frequency with the engines rpm's), intermitant substandard sound (your experiancing this) and coil bounce (your subs move in and out producing little to no sound, you are experiancing this as well)

The same issues can come from the amp not having enough constant power to sustain the subs when they hit repeditivly, to fix this you need to buy a cap and add it to your system- A cap quickly charges using the battery, and supplies the extra umph your amp needs so it can push the subs without starving itself. With the subs you have I recommend a 1.5 to 3 fared capasator

No sound from subwoofer Solo Baric L7

check the resistance of the sub with a digital multi meter, make sure you dissconect the sub from everything before you check the resistance, if your sub is supposed to be 4 ohms than it should be between 3-5 ohms, if it is under 1 that the sub is blown, while the sub is dissconected from the amp, turn the system on, does it still go into protection?

What Amp would i need to push three Kicker L7 12's?

Hello,

It depends on the specific subs and exactly what you want out of them. You have practically unlimited choices for amps.

The 10" L7 has a power range of from 30-600 watts RMS, the 12" from 50-750 watts, and the 15" from 100-1000 watts.

So if you have the 10's, you would want an amp that puts out at least 90 watts RMS and not more that 1,800. Unless you are really into SPL and have an unlimited budget, it's probably best to go somewhere in between.

Keep in mind that these Kickers need to be in a proper enclosure. They like a little more volume to work as compared to RF's or MTX's and some others.

How to order

The L7 I have is brand new in the box (not a speaker box just the retail packaging box) and the rms is 750 watts RMS and 1500 watts peak, but you are correct they blow easy when you push rated power to them, the hifonics subs will take 1200 watts rms all day long and over 3500 peak for burping at competitions, i run mine at 2000 watts everyday in a daily driver. if you hook 1 dual 4 ohm sub to a zx1000.1 it will be 2 ohm load on the amp so you will get 1000 watts to the sub so if you want to run it slightly underpowered to keep it from blowing use the 750.1 per sub, i can do those at about 250 each shipped

the price is 150 plus 10$ flat rate USPS shipping and yes I accept paypal Wyattconnolly@msn.com .

the warranty starts the day you buy it for 12 months but kicker will not cover burned or blown voice coils, that is why i recommended the hifonics (which is what i use to compete with now) because they put out better quality sound and alot more of it and they will take alot of abuse, if you want boxed speakers ready to go in kicker brand ported boxes I can have them drop shipped right to your door as well, the only reason i am selling the 1 L7 i have so cheap is because a customer ordered it then never paid for it so I am selling it at cost. be careful if you are buying on ebay as you have no warranty at all and you cant force the seller to give you 1 even if they say it has 1. because authorized dealers are not allowed to do internet sales at all so kicker and most other companies will not honor the warranties.

also you dont need 2 amps you can use 1 bigger amp and still run 2 subs just by changing how you wire the subs at the amp. 1 large amp costs less than 2 smaller 1's usually just not with kicker brand

Serious contest

ok well to start are the subs 4ohm dvc or 2 ohm dvcs? heres some questions that will get you started. what kind of car do you have and what is your alternator amperage output right now. the kicker 2500.1 is big enough for 2 L7 15s. i would most deffinetly recomend a large capacitor for this system. with 4 l5s you will need roughly 3000 watts rms. so 2 of those amps, 1 amp per 2 subs will be more than enough. im not familiar with the kicker amp line. if they have anything more like a 2000.1 that would still be plenty power and less exspensive. if you have 4 ohm dvcs then you can wire to 1 ohm. is the 2500.1 1 ohm stable? thats something you need to find out. your deffinetly going to want to run atleast 2 gauge wire. i have 4 L7 15s and i run 0 gauge. if the subs are 2ohm dvc you will have to figure out how you would want to wire those. and when i say a large cpacitor i mean like 10 farad or more. i use a 30 farad power acoustik. alot of people would say this is a crappy cap. true it isnt the best one on the market but im running some serious power in my vehicle and this thing gets the job done for sure. if you havent already done THE BIG 3 is a good idea to upgrade. just look up the big 3 and you will find it easily on google. for 4 l5s you may need a High output alternator. 200 amp would be ideal. i know it sounds like alot but if you dont do everything the right way the first time you will end up doing it the right way at some point. if you dont get effiecent power to your system your not going to be happy with it at all.

just to give you an idea so maybe you can educate yourself alittle more before you get youself into this whole thing. im running 2 hifonics brutus bxi 2608s 2600 watts at 1 ohm rms. each one to 2 s15l7s 4 ohm dvc. a 300 amp alternator 2 batterys all 0 gauge wiring and the 30 farad cap. those subs and amps your talking about can pull serious amperage from your car in excess of 300 at a solid base note. let me know how you make out.... my email is motomartin315@aol.com if you have any more questions. just trying to help.
