I have just had installed a Kenwood KRS9080R headunit, KAC848 amplifier,
PSR50P 160w speakers and PSR500 160w speakers, front and rear. The only
problem is that a wurring sound is heard (at low volumes or when the music
fades or cuts) from the accelorator pedal. Its like someone's cutting the
lawn next to my car with a flymo!
Any suggestions...

The amplifier is screwed to mdf which in turn is screwed to the cars
bodywork in the boot - would this be a problem. There's no direct
connection with the amp though. I'll check the speakers as I'm not sure if
they are accidently connected to the bodywork. As for earth's - I didn't
install it but will ask the person who did !
Thanx for help...

Also don't forget that the electrical noise might be leaking into the RCA
leads. If you're using cheap leads, try using better quality triple shielded
items.

A year or two ago I cured alternator whine by grounding the casing of the
head unit to the car body in addition to the normal -power lead. May be
worth a go.

Sounds like alternator whine - although I've never heard it described as a
'lawnmower' sound!
Check all your earths - try and get them all going to the same place and
also check silly things like you haven't screwed speakers directly into the
cars' metalwork...
