First check oil, if oil is good, check oil sending unit by using a jumper wire to both terminals.Your toggle switch may be bad on your idle swith.If that doesnt fix it pull red wire off pc board ground it to frame if it idles down then your pc board is bad.

Computer idles high then shuts down

When you say "idles high" do you mean you hear fans spinning faster or louder? If so, a fan spinning at higher than normal speeds is indicative of components/chips being run aggressively causing them to run at much higher temperatures. You may want to look into getting temperature monitoring software like CPU-Z to monitor the temperatures of your CPU and GPU. These components are the most common ones to be running at high temperatures. If any fan has failed on them the secondary fans (if there is one) will run at much higher speeds to compensate. Your PC may have a safety precaution to automatically shut down if certain temperatures are reached to prevent permanent damage to the components. Are you getting any blue screens before it shuts down?

Computer turns on, but screen says no signal

Computers send out a video signal.

If the monitor isn't receiving a video signal, you get No Signal on the monitor.

First thing to check is the monitor cable. Cable is used on another working computer to verify, or known working computer's monitor cable, is used in place of it.

I believe we can skip that.
Why?

eMachines are budget computers. Designed to save the consumer money, and give the consumer a decent computer.
Problem is low cost of computer, is due to certain hardware components inside the computer, are of low quality.

The Power Supply being one.
Dirty computer inside, also leads to early Power Supply demise.

You can;
1) Test the Power Supply with a multimeter. If you do not have access to one, economical models sell for around $5 to $12.
You will be testing three main voltages;
3.3 Volts, 5 Volts, and 12 Volts. All are DC Voltage.
In comparison two D cell flashlight batteries store 3 Volts DC.

[ Power Supply's are converters. They convert the dangerous high AC voltage (100 to 240. Depends on what country you're in), to the above low DC Voltages ]

Or do you have a KNOWN to be good, Compatible power supply; you can borrow from a working computer?

(I posted this one time, and the person posted back they had borrowed a Power Supply, from their aunt. Computer sat in the garage unused. When finished they returned the Power Supply. Put it back in the computer. Then went, and bought a new one )

Before performing the above, would like you to try this;

Unplug the computer from power. Press, and hold the Power On button in, for 10 seconds. Let go.
Do this same procedure two more times.
Continue also, until the Power On light doesn't briefly flash anymore.

Now plug the computer back into power. WAIT 1 minute.
Turn the computer on. The processor fan, computer case fan/s, and Power Supply fan; should race, (High idle speed), for a few seconds; then slow down. Let's see.

For additional questions please post in a Comment.

Also post the model number of the eMachines. Some examples, T1090, W3653, etc.

The fan keeps running at high speed even when idle

that is an overheating issue and most likely comes from a clogged fan opening, a bad fan, or a bad connection between cpu and heatsink

check those three items, and maybe it will correct it self

Why is my system idle process high all the time

I think this is the normal state. If any other program is running high a lot of the time, you then have to investigate that. System Idle means just that. Everything is alright.

Shuting off at stops

To me it sounds as if the idle air control valve is not working properly. You can try doing a fuel system clean on the truck and see it it helps but you will more than likely have to replace the idle control motor.

My internet keeps dropping out

possible reasons:

Dial up:
  • phone line problem.especially in wet weather,crackling on the line ,call the telco.
  • modem\router on its way out. connect directly to the modem and try it .
  • settings for idle time before disconect needs turning off, (set to 20 minute by default)in most cases.
  • if you have call waiting ,turn it off ,as it can kick you of the net when a call is trying to comes in.
if you use ADSL and/or wireless :
  • some of the above and
  • some USB dongle are prone to drop out,
  • try using a Lan cable
  • brick walls and other hard surfaces can interfere with the signal if you are away some distance from the wireless router.
  • cordless phones can cause problems, keep them away from the modem\wireless router and wireless dongle, or adapter in the pc/laptop
good luck with this and let me know how it goes
