Question about Bissell Vacuums

4 Answers

A friend used my Bissell Proheat Clearview shampooer, and didn't wash out the shamppoo bottle nor turn the dial to water only after using. The flow assembly on the bottle was destroyed. I bought a new bottle but still can't get the shampoo to flow. Hope you can help.

The spray hoses are bocked. The only way to clean them is to take the
clear plastic cover off, un screw the base, lift cover, pull out red
spray nosels, disconnect from main hose and wash under tap. Takes ages
to do and is very fiddly.

Design fault as grit gets into spray holes.

Make sure you always clean machine after use,

Hi,

If your floor cleaner doesn't spray, chances are the heater unit is clogged.

The heater unit is located inside the body of the machine, behind the power/heater switches. Remove 6 screws and split the case open. The silver metal "box" inside is the heater unit. Take note of how the hoses and wires are connected. Better yet, take a digital photo for reference.
Remove the wires and hoses. Take the box to a work bench, and unscrew the 6 or 7 screws that hold on the lid. Don't lose the red washers that are found on the inside of the box that keep water from leaking out of the screw holes You'll see a "maze" where the water runs around to get heated up. Clear this of all debris. The inlet and/or outlet ports may also be clogged. I used an appropriate sized drill bit mounted on an electric screwdriver to carefully "drill" out the clogs. Make sure all the debris has been removed. I used an electric screwdriver because my 18v DeWalt hammer drill would have been overkill Reassemble to box -Rewire and plumb the box according to your notes or reference photo. Put the machine back together.

Have a bissil proheat clearview plus model 1699-1,there is no water flow. soap seems to work. It was used one time but the system was not flushed. Has not worked since.

if you have spray through your hose and no spray on your carpet then your heater will be clogged with soap. try this and post later if thats not it.

Bissell carpet shampooer

First check that the top cover on the back side hasn't come loose. Sometimes the plastic around the screws break away and the top starts to separate, raising the tank, and no spray. Make sure that the gaket is on the valve at the bottom of the tank and not sitting loose in the hole. Check the pump belt. The pump may be bad.

My bissell powersteamer clearview will not **** up water

Check the heater inside of the handle, it may be clogged and not allowing water to flow. The hose doesn't use the heater and that would be why it flows out the hose.
